It was another beautiful day in paradise! It really feels like spring is here in La Jolla,CA! Check out the sunset pictures below that I took when walking the dogs today at the beach. I keep getting encouraged to share the sunset and ocean views. I will try and also post pictures from other San Diego beaches as well since these pictures are so popular.

I was cruising home from the gym this afternoon and thought I would share some pictures of the ocean waves today! It has been really windy here in San Diego the past day or so....the waves are super intense!!! We have had some rain recently and that always clears the water up and brings out the blue/green. Needless to say, it was chilly when I took these today.

The La Jolla real estate market is one of the most expensive in San Diego County. A visit to La Jolla on-line, or better yet in real life, will quickly give you a good sense of why this is so. La Jolla, "The Jewel," is an extraordinarily beautiful coastal community with many homes offering fabulous views of the ocean from the hills, and a trendy, very up-scale village offering the finest in shopping and dining. La Jolla has often been compared to the French and Italian Rivieras with wonderful ocean and coastline vistas from the hills, amazing homes, beautiful architecture, and a terrific year-round climate, attracting visitors from around the world. It has been super clear here in La Jolla (San Diego) and considering we had a monsoon last weekend, it has been super clear! I'm always asked to share the sunsets so here is the latest La Jolla, CA. sunset!

The number of closings between Jan./Feb.09 is close to the same about, this time last year La Jolla had 52 closings and 51 closings for Jan./Fed.10 up to Feb.26th 2010. The days on the market are pretty close to the same 71 in 2009 and 75 in 2010 and even the median sales price vs. list price is 91%/92% respectively. What is very different is the price per square foot has gone down drastically. The median sales price per square foot was $554 SP/SqFt and for 2010 it is $424.00 sales price per square foot for the same medium square foot home of an average of am 1,750 median square foot home. We can read into the market whatever the statistics say, but 2010 is going to be a fabulous time to purchase a home in the La Jolla real estate market. The median sales price has gone from $1,000,000 ...

Ok, I had to share. I know that I just posted some beach pictures, but I'm sitting here at my home and can't help to notice how beautiful it is outside and want to share a couple of the pictures that I have taken here in La Jolla. It is supposed to rain later today, but my roses look so pretty against the ocean and it is so clear outside! I hope everyone enjoys them too and will help brighten a cold winter day.

I have been watching the news and saw on Good Morning America that Philadelphia is getting hit again with a blizzard...the forth time this month! I just thought I would share some warmth and cheer from pictures I took yesterday at Wind n Sea Beach in La Jolla, CA. It was so beautiful and the one picture has a single surfer out for his last set before the sun went down. I am going to be sending some other pictures from today it is beautiful here, but we are expecting rain....believe me I'm not complaining!

I took some absolutly  awesome pictures of Sunset on the Torrey Pines Golf Course the other day when I played golf. The pictures do not even describe or do justice to how beautiful it was over the ocean and the greens! I thought I would share!!

Here are the La Jolla Real Estate Market as of the beginning of February 2010 Inventory is down substantially since last October. I doubt that the homebuyer tax credit will have much effect on the La Jolla market as a whole.  Given the inventory levels and, more importantly, today's interest rates, I would recommend that if your price range shows less than 8-months of inventory, you consider moving before the interest rates increase. If you are looking for homes where there is much more inventory, I recommend looking, but be more selective.  Again, today interest rates are your friend.

The golf tournament at Torrey Pines over the past week was a big success! I have a ton a great pictures which I will be adding a little later, but I had to at least post this one. Mind you, they do not allow cameras or cell phones in the event so I had to sneak some pictures! This is the a par three and the green is surrounded by the ocean and a canyon in the back, so it's the green or nothing:) I will be posting more a little later for those who are interested. This is a big draw to the La Jolla and San Diego community...this year sales were a little down, but I truly do not think this all because of Tiger, but the economy. Tiger didn't play last year, but the attendance was much higher. The good news is with Tiger's absence, this gave other players a chance to compete for the $954,000...

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is an icon in the San Diego area. Located along the 5 freeway, it is impossible for the Church of Latter Day Saints to not grab your attention as you drive north or south in La Jolla, but it can also be seen from many of the area hilltops, including Mt. Soledad in La Jolla. While I have seen it countless times from a distance, I have often wanted to stop by and take photos, but never took the time to do so. Today was the day, as I was showing La Jolla condos right across the street. It is a stunning piece of architecture, as you can see from the pics. Enjoy some other views of the Temple. ********************************      Subscribe in a reader If I can provide more information about La Jolla real estate and surrounding areas, or the ho...

This week my mom had to go to see her doctors down @ the Scripps Green Hospital, in La Jolla, California. She is blessed to have some of the finest physicians take care of her in the area.  The interesting part is that Scripps Green overlooks the Torrey Pines Golf Course which is where the PGA Plays offs are being held. Oh, by the way my mom thinks that she saw Tiger Woods at State Farms Insurance Open.  So, I will be making and eye appointment. I would like to acknowledge the following doctors --- that have provided her with excellent care. Thank you.  Dr. Meri McMann (Cardiologist) Dr. Sarnoff (Pulmonary) Dr. Redfield (Infectious diseases) Dr. Kozak ( General Practice and now ER Doctor) Dr. Curtis (ACID) Dr.  Strum ( Colon) Dr. Joe (Eyes) Dr. Nguyen ( Eyes) Dr. Soo (Skin) The second h...

I went to Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla yesterday for my volunteer's party and to collect my San Diego Open garb (formally The Buick Invitational) and now the tournament is named...at least for this year "The Farmers Insurance Open". They didn't have time to put the new sponsor on my Callaway pull over jacket, so this one might be a collectors item!! How cool is that!  Well at lease we have a sponsor (it took 7 months and two weeks), but we have a sponsor! Anyway, when I was walking to the party along the 9th hole on the South Course I noticed that a bunch of trees were down from the big storms last week and heavy wind and rains. I am sure by the time the whole tournament gets underway they will hopefully be restored or taken out, but really sad to see the trees in this condition...

I had a couple hours off from a very busy schedule in real estate yesterday and decided to check out the coastline after a week of stormy and wet weather and see for myself what the surf was like. It was sunny and the temperature was in the mid 60's and lots of others around with the same idea. As I scanned the La Jolla coastline area in downtown La Jolla, I could see that sea life was also taking advantage of the warm sun rays and found numerous colonies of different types of sea birds and of course the now famous seals that for some folks are unwelcome visitors there. I even saw a few new young pups adding to the growing population of what some say are " visitors". I didn't see any overnight bags around and as far as I could tell, they looked to me like they felt they were "home". The...

Wow went down the the beach yesterday and got some dramatic pictures of the waves! Tons of people were out enjoying the sunshine and staying out of the water! Ocean Beach pier was closed to the public because the waves were going over the pier. Southwest Airlines cancelled all of their flights a couple of days ago so the airport was a mess. Check out what the beach looked like after the storm:
