2019 Annual La Jolla Cove Swim Club Polar Bear Swim While I admire people who are willing to jump in the cold ocean in the middle of winter, or parade around on a chilly beach in a bathing suit, it’s not for me! The Annual La Jolla Cove Swim Club Polar Bear Plunge is on Tuesday January 1, New Year Day. I suspect some Polar Bear Swim diehards from much colder states – MN, WI, ND, New England - might scoff, but the water is still pretty cold at this time of year for swimming without a wetsuit. The popular La Jolla Cove Swim Club Polar Bear Plunge I accompanied by chili (potluck) that members bring, and perhaps other warm foods (the emphasis, here, on WARM), with cider and coffee being provided. What a nice way to warm up whether you are emerging from the cold Pacific or enjoying the plu...

2016 Annual La Jolla Cove Swim Club Polar Bear Swim - La Jolla Shores I admire those who jump in the cold ocean in the middle of winter, or parade around on a chilly beach in a bathing suit. Not for me! And while they call it the Polar Bear Swim diehards from much colder states – I’m thinking MN, WI, ND for example - might scoff. But it’s all relative, and still a shock for the system! Sunday January 1st is the date for the annual La Jolla Cove Swim Club Polar Bear Plunge, accompanied by chili (suggested), soup and perhaps other warm foods as a complement, with cider and coffee to be provided. The polar bear plunge is held at Kellogg Park in La Jolla Shores to the north of La Jolla Cove, and is for La Jolla Cove Swim Club (LJCSC) members only. I would think it could be fun to watch – ...

Annual La Jolla Cove Swim Club Polar Bear Plunge is January 1 First off I have to say I admire those who decide to jump in the cold ocean in the middle of winter, or even parade around on a chilly beach in a bathing suit. Not for me, now or ever! And this is no doubt a tad bit warmer than doing it back in Boston, for example. Seems to me they also did this sort of thing back in Minnesota. Of course you had to dig holes through the ice in the lake. My opinion aside, New Year's Day, Friday January 1, is the date for the annual La Jolla Cove Swim Club Polar Bear Plunge. This will be accompanied by chili (potluck) you bring and perhaps other warm food to complement, with cider and coffee to be provided. The polar bear plunge is NOT being held at La Jolla Cove but at Kellogg Park in La Joll...

Whether you have been in the home hunting process for years or you're new to the home search process you probably know that the market has changed significantly. For a period of time house values were dropping and inventory was plentiful. That same inventory sat stagnant on the market as the banks sifted through foreclosed and short sale inventory - keeping prices low as the market prices leveled out to their true market value. House values have risen over the past few months. Buyers you must act swiftly before you are priced out of your dream home. Interest rates are still very reasonable. However, Inventory is limited. Simple supply and demand is driving prices up in sunny San Diego. The median sales price for homes in La Jolla rose 5.3% in the first 1/4 of the this year with a med...
