Yes but then I usually go to the featured posts & see if anyone I know wrote something great. Also, the posts with the best lead lines catch my eye for reading.

Do not look for newbies.

I virtually never go to the home page... and when I do happen to see it, I find much of what's featured there is something I've already read or I wonder why something is actually on that page, given the topic and poor presentation of the topic.

I very rarely visit the home page Peter Mohylsky, Beach Expert but on occasion I do. I log in and then go immediately to the Q&A section and answer all the questions I had not yet gotten to. Then I go see Wayne Martin 's trivia. Then it's off to James Dray 's personality parade. After that I respond to everyone who has commented on my posts or tagged me.

I begin at my home page, to see who has engaged me.

Then to a group I moderate, to spread cheer and joy.

Then to the home page.

Is there an ActiveRain GPS?  There is a certain randomness involved many times.  Not always a particular plan though I do visit those I follow.

No, I did not even think about it, until I read your question. Maybe I need to make that a habit. Honestly, Active Rain can be as distracting as Facebook.

My link goes straight to "My Home" which lists all the upvotes, comments, tags, etc.  I then process those.  Delete the upvotes, view the comments and tags and reply/like accordingly.  Then it's off to the Q&A section then off the site.

Q & A first, my email second to see the replys, then Blogs. Skimming the headlines, then to Featured. Sometimes looking who has posted of the ones I follow. Very rarely the homepage.

I have been to the AR home page.

Each of us exist in a river of real estate agent propaganda coming from those wanting our nickle. For the most part, broad appeal posts appearing on the AR  home page are just pedestrian, stuff we have all seen 100's of time before and lacking the extra sizzle to reward the time spent, in my humble opinion.

Let me be the first to admit, my perusal of the HP is so infrequent it is highly likely the GOLD offered was missed entirely by me. The 3 posts out of the thousands posted monthly I scanned my not be representative of the GENIUS possessed by so many on Active Rain.

My navigation pattern is HP, click Q&A, scan for anopolis, check my stimulating questions file and stimulate.

Rarely go to the Home Page. Usually Q and A, and then check for features and the blog roll. It also depends on time I have.

My home first, Q&A second to see if there's anything I can actually add some value to, then home page for Features, then to Blog roll.

And I do not necessarily make it all the way through that list before starting over the next day.

Over the years the routine has changed... but the blue and gold AR front page. How it would work best if well rounded like a restaurant menu. Here's a tech blog post on optimizing images, how to alt tag and why it is so important. Followed by a meet a local business in my home town post perfect example for other bloggers to create too. Then flash from the past, a well ranking post that is a golden oldie and evergreen still pertinent... a newbie post with everything welcoming trailing below. Then a mortgage lending piece, a stagingg post, a how to manage email prospects, how to direct mail farm, run and gun produce a community or listing video and so on.

Assignments, if you and I had a weekly assignment on whatever expertise each of us has to get under the spotlight to stand on its own, not in a rehash second time around or greatest hits of the week approach, you would see more than a small group of same old posters. Improving the SEO of AR is part of becoming more robust and worthwhile.

Q&A seems the best ROI now. Going back on popular AR posts to improve them because they are linked in our own off campus posts that are built around some of them. Most of the time on blog posts spent on our own platforms. Those get the time and energy with what we learned long ago and along the way on AR.

Depends on how much time I have. I always check in on my home page for any conversations - did anyone reply to me or comment on my posts/answers/comments? I sometimes check in to the Q&A. I skim the featured posts but I rarely read the blog rolls any more, preferring instead to read the blogs of people I subscribe to.
