Here in South Florida my thermostat is set at 78F during the day and evenings it slowly starts lowering down to 75F for bedtime. This is 365 days per year. My parents have their home in NY set at 65 F and I freeze to death when I visit. Usually having dinner with my coat on-that's what 40 years in the tropics does to you!

Susan,
We don't have AC as we live close enough to the ocean. The last week we had a monsoon air flow that was hot and humid, and I wished for an AC and thinking when we move, we may isntall one for those days. In the winter, we turn off the heat at night. But then our winter lows are in the 40's and once in a great while it goes to below freezing... I like your setting. A

I would rather be cold than hot, especially in our triple digit temperatures here in South Texas
