Garden District CondosMagazine Street CondosNew Orleans La.      Most of the historic condos in the Garden District neighborhood are on Magazine Street. This is the edge of the Garden District. Most are located between Jackson Avenue and Louisiana Avenue. There are few in the Garden District proper but not that many.        The Magazine Street Condos in this area are a great location to be near shopping, eating, and site seeing. Most are easy parking with designated spots and others have easy street parking.        I have sold a number of condos in the area. A large number of these sales were for medical students and residents as it is close to the Tulane and LSU medical school. The cost was less than the Warehouse District. of the students and parents have held on to the condos and now...

The Federal Fibre Mills Condos 1107 South Peters New Orleans Warehouse District  A Little Bit of History about the Federal Fibre Mills         Designed in 1904 by architects Favrot and Livaudals the Federal Fibre Mills warehouse was completed in 1907 and used for the production of rope, largely for ships in port. It was used as a pavilion for the 1984 New Orleans World´s Fair. The old rope factory, built of heavy timber, is an interesting study of conversion efficiency.         Over one million dollars was spent on initial cleanup with a deep desire to preserve the character and flavor of both the New Orleans tan bricks and the first growth heart of Southern yellow pine. Because the building is listed on the National Register for Historic Places, strict guidelines for modification of th...

French Quarter Homes     The New Orleans French Quarter has a large variety of homes that vary in style and size. Much of the variety has to do with the time that the homes were built and what they were used for. There was a large fire in the French Quarter in 1788 that burned a lot of homes. Over time the designs changed as new homes and double were built as time moved forward. You can really see the differnce as you get closer to Esplanade Avenue walking from Canal Street.Creole Cottages - 1790-1850. Single story homes with steeply pitched roofs that were built on the street with no front yards. Creole Town Homes - 1790-1850. Three story homes. The third story is usually a living attic where the bedrooms were located. Many times the first floor was a separate unit for business or a gu...

Bywater Neighborhood in New OrleansSo Many Colorful Homes and DoublesA Very Artistic Neighborhood      The Homes along the Mississippi River in the Bywater neighbor are very colorful and artistic. The area also has many doubles. The Bywater stretches from the Marigny to the Industrial Canal between St. Claude Avenue and the Mississippi River. There is no other neighborhood in the USA that I know of.       The Neighborhood has changed in color and artistic homes in the last 20 years. It never existed like this in the 20th century. It is fun to walk and view all the homes and unique colors and changes that have been made to the homes. A Few Atristic Homes in Bywater,Very Unique and Colorful !
