I lost my dad just over six months ago, and it was quite unexpected for us all. The last six months have been a roller coaster of emotions, and sometimes absolutely overwhelming. This past weekend, my family and I honored a tradition he had started by heading back to Notre Dame, to spend time as a family, remember our time with him and enjoy each other. Dolphins Today at Huntington Beach, CA Today while I was standing at the end of the pier at Huntington Beach, CA., much to my surprise someone yelled “Dolphins” and yes there they were. There was a pair of them right in front of me and then dove into the water. The pair popped up two more times but never any big jumps. I was so excited as I think Dolphins are very special. Scientists believe they are the clue to secrets of our world. I have read they are extremely smart and have human-like characteristics. This event caused Americans to open their eyes to the real threat around us and to never forget!   While in Pennsylvania in July 2011, we visited Shanksville which is the site where United Flight 93 crashed. The plane had been hijacked by terrorists was downed by the brave 36 passengers/4 crew members onboard. They were able to use their cell phones and learned what had just occurred in New York. They realized this plane was heading towards Washington DC.   If you haven't driven down Etiwanda Ave lately in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, you may be in for a pleasant surprise!  Yes, we now have a windmill, or wind turbine (the technical term for it)... Citigroup Has A Foreclosure Rental Program..   Citigroup is getting into the Rental business, at least it says it is.  Citigroup launched a prorgam to rent out 500 homes to homeowners who are having trouble paying their mortgage, rather than put the loans in foreclosure and kick the owners out. Citigroup is becoming the second largest bank - since Bank of America launched a similar program to rent in March to try out a rental program that would alleviate some of the pain of foreclosure.   It seems to be a step in the right direction as it relates to rental programs..     So if you have have a Citigroup Loan call your Bank/Lender and get the process going.. 08/31/2012

  Dogs can shop at the Apple Store too! I had to run over to Rancho Cucamonga, CA and stopped in at the Apple store to buy a new iPhone case. Much to my surprise a huge Great Dane was walking up the street and also going shopping at the Apple store with his owner. Meet Max, a huge Great Dane who was full of personality and so friendly. He had a nice collar on plus he had a friend with him named Lola.   Look at that face? Adorable! Stop in at the Apple Store and maybe you will have a nice suprise too. Visitors at My Water Fountain Last week we had our water fountain moved, cleaned and turned on again. Since then, the birds have been enjoying it too. Last night, I filled all the bird feeders (5) and this morning birds were everywhere. They were all taking turns flying in the fountain as it was already 90 degrees and quickly rising. Then I noticed 3 new birds but did not get a picture of them all together…..Darn. I was not sure if they were Yellow Warblers or Lesser Goldfinches. The experts at birdforum.net think they are Lesser Goldfinches. I had never seen them in my yard before so I suspect they are heading south and just stopped in for a quick drink, some bird seed and to rest up. Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus is coming to town.   Driving home yesterday I saw the train stopped on the side of the freeway. I had to stop for slow traffic and saw it looked like an entire train of B & B circus cars so I snapped a picture but only had a second. I think the train was heading north to San Jose. When I drove by today, it was gone…….very sad. It was exciting to think everything for the circus except for the people were on this single train. I could feel my heart go pitter-patter like I was a small child again.    Yeah…I am excited as I love to see the animals, animal handlers, the music, the tents, the trapeze, the clowns, the popcorn and the stunts in the rings. As many of you know Marine Corporal Joshua Ashley was killed in action July 18, 2012 while conducting combat operations as a Military Police / Military Working Dog Handler in Helmand, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Law Enforcement Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He graduated Etiwanda High School in2007, where he was the Captain of the water polo team and lettered all four years in both water polo and swim.
