Savory Spice Shop in Encinitas~ My Favorite Local Spice Shop ~ I’m a grill guy all year round here in Carlsbad. It wasn’t quite that way back in New England due to the weather, but unless it was snowing or REALLY cold grilling was still an option and preferred. I’m a big fan of rubs for fish, chicken and shrimp, and use a variety of them depending on my mood and what I’m grilling. The Savory Spice Shop in Encinitas next door to Carlsbad is a favorite place to buy a wide range of rubs, herbs and salts. And this stuff is always on my Christmas wish list! I usually have a dozen or so different ones I can use (great on roasted potatoes, too!).  Yes, you can order online, which is good for re-orders, but I like checking out the possibilities, where you can sniff and taste, in person. Savory...

APPL's N OrangesOK, so how about a little satirical cynicism?   APPL may take a significant hit in the very challenging and foggy immediate future; possibly even days. Lot’s of weak knees will jump ship and run for safer ground. The stock may tumble appreciably. Apple will have to fish or cut bait.      The FISH?  APPL keeps resetting those hooks until they land a boatload of fine Japanese Sushi for their Stockholders by way of a permanent fix for the unfortunate predicament they’re in.   I’m confident Tim Cook and Company, or should I say FAMILY, will pull it off somehow. There’s just too much money, intelligence and TRUE GRIT not to.     The BAIT? To be forced legally and via moral suasion by many factions to bite on the hook of government and open the back door to inevitable penetra...

Sage Canyon is a great neighborhood/ tiny subdivision located on the very south end of El Camino Real, in Encinitas. The Sage Canyon neighborhood butts up to a few other subdivisions nearby inlcuding: Pacific Ranch, Spyglass, which is next to Summerfield Homes in Encinitas, etc. Sage Canyon is also located across the street from Pacific Pines Condominium complex, The Lux Art Institute, The Grauer School,  the San Dieguito Tennis Club, close to Mira Costa College, and 5 freeway. I love the homes in Sage Canyon. Most of the properties are located on decent size lots and there are many with large lots and offer good privacy. Resort like backyards and landscaping are to be found often in this Encinitas Real Estate/ neighborhood. I would guess there are approximately 50 homes (max) in Sage C...

Will The Dramatic Drop In The Stock Market Impact Real Estate?   We're well aware that the FED will soon be back on the road to zero interest rates simply by default let alone necessity. However, with the stock market in a downward spiral approaching bear territory this certainly impacts bank values as well and their ability and/or incentive to lend money for anything let alone housing.     We all know real estate is local. Some markets are hot while others are cooling off if not turning flat. But we also know that the economic meltdown in China has caused hundreds of billions of dollars to flee looking for a safer and more robust place to park.   So where will a lot of those billions be going? China and other foreign economies are taking a serious look if not making plays for American...
