Depends on the level of unsubscription and how annoyed I am.

Little annoyed: Unsubscribe and click the "This is spam" button, since it is.  Click the spam icon on my email program (doesn't impact the server though).

Moderately annoyed: Above plus reporting to SpamCop.net and opening up the email's headers and following the report abuse link (if it has one, most don't).

"Mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore":  I go further.

Hi Paul,
I do a major purge periodically but, you're right, they keep coming and multiplying like little bunnies. I've heard when you unsubscribe it just confirms the address is valid and does no good.  I've gotten REALLY good with the delete key.

I give it go on unsubscribe just on real estate things. Others I just mark them as junk & have the spam filter take care of them.

There are some people (Annette) that says now they know they've got a live email so they throw you on more lists. I'm not sure on that.

Agents that send me open house notices from another state are just idiots.

I do not unsubscribe for that reason. They unsubscribe you from that list and then they put you on more. I put the sender on a block list, I may put the entire domain on a block list, delete and bye!

A couple clicks, try blocking them instead.

Also be mindful when unsubscribing of what you are agreeing to- some unsubscribe pages have questions like "do you want to unsubscribe from offers from this page?" & you have to choose the option "unsubscribe me from ALL advertising messages". Otherwise you leave the door open for them to spam you some more.

the best approach is to visit the server and report it as spam there. In addition I report it as spam to my own blocker. The result are good so far

Delete one and they subscribe you to others. I just delete them immediately over a period of time and they seem to go away

I only unsubcribe from senders with whom I have done business in the past. Those 77 year drip campaigns get boring.

Unsolicited spam goes to inbox of my digital twin and simply gets diverted, not unsubcribed.

About 2.5 seconds.  I've got my email settings set up where if it looks like spam, it goes immediately to the spam folder.  I check it from time to time.

Way too long. Many times if you unsubscribe you've validated yours is a working email then it is sold to others

I have always suspected that hitting "Unsubscribe" on many spam emails is verification of my email for the sender and enables them to provide my email address to other spammers. I just hit "delete".

Send them to trash. We had a whole bunch of junk - like 30 to 50 one week and they just kept on coming. Trashed them all - it took some time - and it was a bit annoying but they're all gone now.

 

The stupidest ones to me are other local agents that somehow think putting me on their 'client list' and sending me spam 'client' stuff. So stupid! The other ones are brokers trying to recruit agents and they fail to do any research on who they're sending spam emails too! Why would I be recruiting other broker/owners?  Not going to happen.
