What is a day off? That's an unkown concept to me, Paul.

Always on duty.  On the average I work about 1-2 hours a day 7 days a week, 365.  

I've been a Realtor for 37 years.  I am trying to keep a slower pace as I move through my golden years.  However, I really am never quite away.  The good news with technology and cell phones, it is easier to always be on duty than it was in 1981.

I always have the option to anwer the phone or not.

Always on duty... I am fortunate to have a group of people in my office that all work together and help each other. So whether you are sick or on vacation we all have each others back. Never the less you have to stay in tune with each decision and action and keep on line to make sure all is good for your client.

Unless i am on a cruise ship, i can never get away. I took yesterday off, however fielded calls, emails and even did a bpo last night when an asset manager emailed about a reo auction today where the other aent did not do it on time, and if i could, the listing was mine. 

Even on days off you still have to check in. 

No, not always.

My phone is always in hand so I am going to see messages even if I am off. If I am unable to respond immediately I will get back to you in a reasonable time frame. So on duty or limited duty 24-7.

Yesterday felt like a day off but still included a real estate related lengthy phone call.  

Many years ago, as an asset manager of of large portfolio, it was 24/7/365 without any breaks. Then I realized life was too short! Now I have all days off and that is the other extreme!

One is like another to me, Paul. When I'm not working I am available for calls. The last couple of supposed vacations have been interrupted by issues on transactons 

"On duty" is akin to "Always Open" or "24/7.  It's a concept that works in name only for some but can be found as part of others.  Priorities come to mind.   

Not very far.

Even on vacation I was always available on some level.  I had back-up but I still wanted people to know I was available... maybe not immediately (as usual) but within a few hours at most.

Every day is a day off for me.

Not far but, I do typically take Sundays off and get out in the garden or go to the park with the fur babies. I don't get too far away!

Depends on whether we go fishing at our favorite spot on the weekend (virtually little/no internet) or have the Gbabies (present for memories like lizard chasing and picking strwaberries from the patch). Will periodically check messages though.

Always on the duty as long I have my phone with me.

No I'm not always on duty. Lordy that would be depressing. I have a life and it's best to be enjoyed - not consumed by business.

Days off?  That does not work.

However a real vacation into places without cell coverage....now that's how you spell VACATION!  Even then I do purchase a list from the local taxing authority.

Always on.  Even the last 3 weeks in Europe I still had access to my email and was checking it at night.  Mainly to get rid of the trash mails.  Still came home to 115 legit emails.

I am accessible and available when I need to be.

My family is visiting from out of state. Yesterday and today are the closest to days off that I take. Yet, messages still need responses and phones get answered.

I feel like I'm always on duty. Anyone else negotiate a contract at Disney World?

You know we were in commercial real estate, and to this day when I see a sign I do notice it and we will often comment on it especially when we are in LA.  We knew every owner of every building and the stories with those properties in those days.  I also notice the real estate signs in Europe...And the same for brands, I live an breathe brands---love what we do, love seeing spins and packaging...From that aspect, I am on duty...however, I enjoy it.  Now being in the countryside, perhaps I am off duty...A

I can just leave what I do and pick it up when I have time...

the team members are ALWAYS ready to answer the phone unless they're with clients...

Even when I'm not "working" it always seems to creep back in...

Not on duty, maybe on alert.

On duty until I am not .....

I'm always "on" to a degree unless I go someplace with no cell coverage.

What's a day off?  I try and no make appts on Sunday, but always answer my phone and emails.

I have to say I am on duty all the time.
