I just got the 8. I'm not spending $1,000 (X) on a phone. Quite happy with the camera upgrade and photo quality, amongst other feature improvements.

Funny but, I had to have my screen replaced today on my 6+ - I will use a phone until it dies! (I went from a 4 to a 6+)!

However, in your shoes, I would go for the gusto! As much as we rely on our phones, I'd get the best there is...and then keep it for a few years! LOL

The iPhone X is very different and you need to love technology and change. All the reviews say it's not "for everyone". The 8 would be more familiar and still fantastic.

Home again, home again...

I'm sure they're both great.

But if I'm buying one (and I'm not... my 6plus is still working just fine)... I'm going to go all out and buy the latest/greatest version out there... since it's one of the major tools of my trade, right?

I don't know when I'll do it, but it will be the X for me.  I LOVE my son in laws.  He has the same size screen as my 7 plus and his phone is as small as my daughter's 7  No wasted space on the front.  I love love love it.

I couldn't wait for the 8 as my phone was going wonky in August. I got a 7Plus and love it. My husband got an 8 in September. I can't see much difference in his and mine.

My daughter wanted the 8 has her phone was broke and she counted the day until that day it came out. I waited for the 10. I love my 10 and it is the best Iphone ever. There is really good deals through phone providers, Sprint has sprint flex and is affordable on an Iphone forever plan.

I would do the 8 Plus or the X if I hadn’t just gotten the 7 Plus last December. I like the larger screen for many reasons. It all comes down to budget and personal tastes in my opinion. Go to the Apple store and speak with them about it and play with them for yourself.

iPhone X has lots of bells and whistles, but I don't think it justify the prices. Unless paying 1k for a phone is not a big deal for you, I would stick with 8.

Thanks so much for your tips and advice! I ended up with X, got it today and absolutely love it so far.

The set up was the easies ever. It connected to my 6+ and pulled all information with no need to do it manually( usually emails  and all networks).

Also face recognition is absolutely AWESOME!

I recently upgraded to the 8 plus from a 6s. I’m extremely happy with my decision. The photography features and larger screen sold me. I also purchased the Apple Care which has paid for itself many times over for me in the past.
