Our country is founded on the concepts that WE choose. Personally I believe everyone is entited to their opinion and to support the candidate of their choosing. I am fond of the quote.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

 This quote is attributed to a variety of individuals among them.

      My clients know up front that I am politically to the right; and I know that most of them are far to the left.   Who cares?  We just work together to accomplish their real estate objectives.

I say nothing. Their opinions are not my business. My opinions are not their business. I will take the conversation in a different direction.

I'm a business person, not a politician.

It's happened to me, and I just change the topic. Or I tell them I don't discuss politics. End of story.

I don't mind if others have different political views, since many do. I just mind if they try bashing me over my head with their thoughts in attempt to get me to agree with them. 

Just don't expect me to join them at the next rally.  I'll gladly do business with them and get a nice commission check all the while listening to them bash my party.

Like when talking to my last girlfriend during a football game, a series of "uh-huh", "oh really", "what do you think about that" and "how does that make you feel" will get you through any conversation w/o having to pay much attention.

I don't talk politics so what they say goes unanswered.

Say nothing. I say nothing politically, religiously or any taboo subjects.

I can't fix ignorance, I can only lead by example.

I say nothing & immediately change the subject to real estate.

I do try to avoid any conversations about any political candidates. I try to blow it off with some kind of quip and move on. 

Politcis and business do not mix. I try to stay away from it and wont engage when clients start

I don't care. I find at least 20% of all clients / customers are offensive in one way or another. I don't make a living judging other people.

Everone is welcome to their own preference politically, but I woudl steer the conversation away from that topic and back to to real estate.  "Did you see the size of that walkin closet?" Never get involved with politics with clients.

if you want to have a smooth transaction, you say you never converse about politics or religion.... you only talk construction!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I would debate politics with a prospect. Focus on the real estate transaction.

A preference is a choice as long as it does not degrade others.

I am not afraid to discuss politics, it is an important thing for us to have an informed public.

It might to them although it makes no nevermnd to me. I say nothing and do not encourage the conversation unless provoked.

I say NOTHING.   I listen.  My focus and intention is to serve their real estate needs. Been there. Done that. Many times. None of my clients know my political lean. I remain neutral.  

Stay neutral and nod a lot as they state their views.

As someone on AR used to say, it depends on how well I know the customer, and what they said. When I talk about politics or religion, it must be understood by both parties ( a pun> that we are having a friendly discussion and debate. No one must be insulted or degraded but instead we use our minds and learn from each other. By doing so, we make progress. Only with the exchange of ideas and thought is when progress happens

I remember one time that Mike and I voted for different candidates, so no big deal...

However if they want to just ramble on or give me the fake news, I will have to shut them down.

Luckily, I have not had that problem....yet.

I have no obligation to challenge them.

However, to make them feel better, I will strategically inquire to determine the depth of their knowledge, NOT the emotion of their conviction. 

The outcome has been those who freely expression their emotion collapse when inquiry goes deeper than three questions.

Those inept at engaging in such dialog do not know the essential issues of human nature. Make clear who the loser is and all of the shameful behavior disappears.

This is based on the reality that when one sees their argument is running out of substance they substitute volume and belligerence followd by persoanl attacks. Making such observations clear establishes the premise the loser will self declares.

I have a full vocabulary of words that allow me to converse with anyone on any side of the political spectrum, while neither agreeing or disagreeing or revealing my opinion.  You know, like politicians do.

Nothing. No political comments enter my business conversations. I have strong opinions and I keep them to myself. The clients political or moral views are not part of my business interaction with them.

That's interesting...usually I let them blab, helps determine how smart or misguided they are...and how much work it's gonna take to get then to the clsoing table, or not.

I don't comment.  I simply will not engage.

I am not ashamed of my stand but I don't push my beliefs on anyone.  If a client stated a preference other than mine, I do not react unkindly, but find a positive thing to say and then quaintly change the subject to something more general.

For me, it doesn't matter if I agree or disagree with their views, as I'm a 'live and let live' kind of gal Mike Rock.  I would change the subject, because my comment(s) either way would only serve to continue that conversation.  Changing a topic of conversation to something not personal is easy to do, especially if you are excited about something else, as you divert their interest, too!

Happens all the time. I can help them with their real estate. I don't have the time nor inclination to debate their politics.
