They never did catch on in North America.  I see agents, just this year, thinking they discovered something new and exciting!  Sad really.

They were never big things to me in real estate and since they were created in Japan in the mid 1990s not particularly new either. What I did see is "gurus" being paid too much money promoting QR codes as the magic marketing bullet.

I didn't use them when they were "big" and I don't use them now.

No, I did not  use them ever. I just did not like them or found them useful.

Though I think retailers have started using it. And if that happens, it will be back.

I am the only agent I know who ever sold a house using a QR Code connecting to a mobile-friendly virtual tour.  It was my mother's house.  The buyers saw it, called their agent and we were under contract a few days later.

I'm not sure that they ever were a big thing.  There certainly was talk about them becoming a big thing and that talk has died down.  I still have them on my signs (as I'm still using the same ones from a few yrs ago), but I don't put them on other things as they create clutter.

One of my friends asked me once, why do agents put these squares of ants on their websites and adds?  That is what they look like.  Sadly, agents who used them did not do their homework.  The apps did not work all the time, and there were different apps for different ones.  You had to stand real still to capture it....A

Nope-they appear to have just been a phase that peetered out.

I never got in the habit. It reminded me of the thing you used to put outside the house and they turned to a radio station to get information of the house.

No, not at all and I actually deleted the applications that I had on my phone to create them and read them. I think with the web being so easy to get info on through the device in our pocket, not needed anymore.

Not being a user, I feel no need for them..... with that said there might be people who do use them and since they are free why not..... just make sure there pointed to something that matter 

They were a great idea, and should still be used on signs or anyplace where you would like people to take down your info via a mobile device.
