Yes and it is always a big hit. One of my cilents many years ago referred to himself as the "big fish" (he bought a more expensive home than he thought he would so this was an inside joke) looked at the prime rib and said, "I paid for that," referring to the money I earned off of his purchase. LOL Everyone soon got into the fun with everyone pointing out what "they" had bought - I had rental clients there, too, who would point to the napkins - hey, look, that's us! LOL Anyway, I usually do a Christmas party or an outdoor barbeque in the warmer weather.

Ginny - I think this is a great idea. I think it would be cool if you could do something or some favor that is easy for them to remember you (e.g. something w/ ruby red shoes). Maybe something w/ toothpicks/napkins, etc.
Or maybe you do the chocolate bar thing I did (wrappedhershey.com). Get a whole bunch that can be used for many things including this. You could give one to each of your potential clients in the future so they remember you, give during listing presentation.
I think they are about $2.50/each...but if you want to save money, you can get labels only and then wrap yourself.

Yes and it was very very beneficial in getting more buisness. Now we do it as marketing.

Yes, but more a co-hosted capacity. I typically offer to supplement with side dishes and drinks (budget in mind) and I also always offer to send the invites, so I can brand the invitations through mail or e-vite. I want the guests to realize I'm co-hosting and wonder why their Realtor never did this for them? :) It's fun and less work this way. I stay for the first 60-90 minutes, circulate and then say my good bye's unless I've offered to stay and help with the cleanup which is rare. Only 20% of my clients ever take me up on it. Average time from close of escrow: 4-6 weeks. Let them move in, settle and decorate first.

I haven't, but I do host appreciation parties and invite past and current clients, "my team" of stager, home inspector, painter, etc. Every couple of years I do a big event; host smaller gatherings at my home, or guided walking tours. It's nice to celebrate!

No. That is a good idea, great way to get referrals. I guess do it at their house? And I bring the goods?
