This week my mom had to go to see her doctors down @ the Scripps Green Hospital, in La Jolla, California. She is blessed to have some of the finest physicians take care of her in the area.  The interesting part is that Scripps Green overlooks the Torrey Pines Golf Course which is where the PGA Plays offs are being held. Oh, by the way my mom thinks that she saw Tiger Woods at State Farms Insurance Open.  So, I will be making and eye appointment. I would like to acknowledge the following doctors --- that have provided her with excellent care. Thank you.  Dr. Meri McMann (Cardiologist) Dr. Sarnoff (Pulmonary) Dr. Redfield (Infectious diseases) Dr. Kozak ( General Practice and now ER Doctor) Dr. Curtis (ACID) Dr.  Strum ( Colon) Dr. Joe (Eyes) Dr. Nguyen ( Eyes) Dr. Soo (Skin) The second h...

I'm heading back out to volunteer today to shuttle the players from the putting green to the driving ranges. Wow, what a blast. I have been able to meet some very top golfers. Here are some pictures from yesterday...it will be a beautiful day today! This is me and Paul Goydos and one below with Lee Elder and KUSI weather guy, Dave Scott.

I went to Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla yesterday for my volunteer's party and to collect my San Diego Open garb (formally The Buick Invitational) and now the tournament is named...at least for this year "The Farmers Insurance Open". They didn't have time to put the new sponsor on my Callaway pull over jacket, so this one might be a collectors item!! How cool is that!  Well at lease we have a sponsor (it took 7 months and two weeks), but we have a sponsor! Anyway, when I was walking to the party along the 9th hole on the South Course I noticed that a bunch of trees were down from the big storms last week and heavy wind and rains. I am sure by the time the whole tournament gets underway they will hopefully be restored or taken out, but really sad to see the trees in this condition...

I had a couple hours off from a very busy schedule in real estate yesterday and decided to check out the coastline after a week of stormy and wet weather and see for myself what the surf was like. It was sunny and the temperature was in the mid 60's and lots of others around with the same idea. As I scanned the La Jolla coastline area in downtown La Jolla, I could see that sea life was also taking advantage of the warm sun rays and found numerous colonies of different types of sea birds and of course the now famous seals that for some folks are unwelcome visitors there. I even saw a few new young pups adding to the growing population of what some say are " visitors". I didn't see any overnight bags around and as far as I could tell, they looked to me like they felt they were "home". The...

Wow went down the the beach yesterday and got some dramatic pictures of the waves! Tons of people were out enjoying the sunshine and staying out of the water! Ocean Beach pier was closed to the public because the waves were going over the pier. Southwest Airlines cancelled all of their flights a couple of days ago so the airport was a mess. Check out what the beach looked like after the storm:

Yes, you heard that right!  We thought it would never happen, but the FHA actually AGREED that investor/flippers are doing a GOOD WORK towards promoting home ownership, and should be encouraged! Here's the link: http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/waivpropflip2010.pdf FHA likes the idea of investors who can buy shoddy houses & rehab them, then re-sell at an affordable price to home buyers.  They (finally) concede that fixing up and doing a "quick turn" can HELP the economy.... Hope the title companies agree with this also! What does this mean?  More FHA buyers!!!  Hooray for home owners. (Be sure to read the article as there are some restrictions.) Here's the input from Christopher Gray, top real estate Broker in Oakland, CA: "In examining its policy regarding the 90-day resale restricti...

The La Jolla real estate market is one of the most expensive in San Diego County. A visit to La Jolla on-line, or better yet in real life, will quickly give you a good sense of why this is so. La Jolla, "The Jewel," is an extraordinarily beautiful coastal community with many homes offering fabulous views of the ocean from the hills, and a trendy, very up-scale village offering the finest in shopping and dining. La Jolla has often been compared to the French and Italian Rivieras with wonderful ocean and coastline vistas from the hills, amazing homes, beautiful architecture, and a terrific year-round climate, attracting visitors from around the world.
