Who knows. Why would anyone trust results from an iphone or with ballots with signature not being validated. What I'm not happy with is the all of a sudden change in voting structure in many states just before an election. If structure was to be changed it should have been done a long time ago.....maybe a year or so to make sure each state is providing real secure and verified voters.

I am beginning to believe we should go back to in person voting on election day with very little exception for an absentee ballot request. We are currently out of control.

I would have a concern about hacking. The technology would make it to easy to fradulently vote if done by cell phone. Who knows? we may one day have a DNA scan to verify accurate voting. Remember What Mayor Daley in Chicago said, "Vote early and vote often"

God I hope not! I won't use the electronic voting booths due to the lack of security in the code and the systems.
There is a good episode of "The Orville" that talks about instant voting and "Majority Rule" (the name of the episode) and the popular vote in general. Check it out.

Hard to say. It sure would make life easier if we could. They would have to make sure it is hack proof, if that is at all possible.

Fascinating as I beleive the cell phone will continue to replace quite a few things and perform in arenas at this time unknown. However, this will require detailed current, updated, and verifiable data on every cell phone user...Your entire life-style will be revealed along with location and behavior history. It won't be long until an implanted chip (at birth?) will do it all

At the present, voting by mail is the best solution. We received email notices when our ballots were received and when our votes were counted. As of this morning 67% of the registered voters in our county had voted.

I don't see being able to vote by phone as viable. Too many security and privacy issues. People want privacy with their phones, yet voting would require a significant verification process, giving up privacy.
I can't remember the last time I voted in person. Oregon has mailed my ballot to me every time I need to vote. Works like a charm from my viewpoint. I drop it off at the county offices just because I like to submit in person. More tactile, feels like voting. And I go by the county every time I'm in town. If not I would be fine mailing it back too.

I am sure that this will eventually happen but there needs to be more identification that is verifiable before it is implemented. There will always be someone crying foul or declaring fraud.

The going to the polls to vote. Seeing others doing the same and getting your official ballot, finding a booth to reach back and pull the curtain shut. A lot like opening up wide a fresh, untapped, carefully folded newspaper experience. Not the same on the screen and without the smell of newsprint, the rustle of the pages. I hope voting is not reduced to tap tap the screen, slide to the the icon to respond to each ballot decision one glowing LED item at a time Chris Ivy .

Considering they can hack your phones even if they are turned off... leaves me to think... no to voting on our phones
I really love going to our senior center and voting. You can do the curtain or sit at the table and fill in the lines. Its a community moment and people are chatting and milling around. The volunteers are lovely. They were so excited yesterday because of the turnout. I was the 860th person to vote and people were still waiting and more were pulling into the parking lot.
People take Voting for granted just like they take America for granted.... Dont it always seem to go that you dont know what you got till its gone?

I think this Election will create a Movement to have everyone getting Chipped.
