I think the effectiveness of Craigslist for rentals has worn off - there are too many scams for one thing, and it's not particularly user friendly for searching, and so much duplication.

I haven't touched Craig's list in at least four if not five years for any reason--too many scams. As for rental listings, don't do them in any event.

No, it's not good for rentals or resales - there are others that are much better, including MLS!

I have never used Craigslist for real estate.

Too many scammers on Craigslist. Be very careful I have run into many agents who have had their posts hijacked for a scam and I stopped using many years ago.

I don't do rentals. 

In recent years, the only leads from listing rentals on CL inevitably have bad credit, evictions or other issues, so I do not use it.

It might depend on the area. I don't use it for anything, but I have an investor client who has purchased several multi-family buildings. He then rents them out on C/List and has a lot of success. He usually gets a bunch of calls within the first few days.

I use Craigslist only for rental. But I did not post anything for at least 6 months. Not sure about recent trends on C.L.

I think when renting your property, you should always utilize craigslist, however do it along with other listing sites!

I think some people associate craigslist with scams. (sometimes) However, if you see the same property on craigslist that you had saw on Zillow, you feel a lot more comfortable about contacting that property. Just my thought!

TurboTenant has a marketing syndication feature, so landlords can upload information about their property and in one click market it to over 30 different listing sites including Zillow, Trulia, etc. There is also a copy and paste snippet to easily upload their property to craigslist. Work smarter not harder. :) 

I have Hackers try to use my listing to rent.

The last time I put a listing on Craigslist, I got a stalker.  Won't do that again.

Not using CL as much as I once did.  Leads from there are scarce and I get lots of spam.  If your using CL use as many tags as possible. Pictures and your professional status with contact info.  I'm sure people still search Craigslist. 

They seem to be ghosting most of my rentals there, getting most of my rental results on FB now.

Every experience with Craigslist has probelms associated with it, scamming and highjacking. I no longer do any Craigslist.

Many years ago I had great success with CL.  Now, I'm afraid to use CL for anything.  Too many con artists lurking there.

Stopped using it when my website stopped providing code to embed my listings thanks to Craigslist not accepting it anymore. Always had found it provided a lot of traffic to my website. 

It may be something to use to pursue landlords to represent, or to see if they want to sell possibly.

Yes.  In my market it works very well.  I use the Realbird template, but even a picture and "XBR Single Story home in CITY for rent. $1234" works pretty well.

My website can not get accepted by these homes sites anymore. If your listing is too high you may not get much traffic.

I try to now avoid CL at all costs

Praful Thakkar I used Craigslist in the past. The ROI was pretty poor.

I do not do rentals, period! 

In my experience, those using CL are either:

1. service providers

2. investors

3. small business owners

4. marginal (not qualified and need non-traditional solutions)

My CL post is about service, not property.

No addresses provided or non-branded images are used.

Target real estate has appropriate signage. "IF you are not talking directly to Annette Lawrence you are likely to become a victim of real estate fraud."

Finally, the ad states, ' You must CALL.'

The voice prompts on the tele will sort the caller into the appropriate priority.

All my bank owned listings kind of end up there for rent by people out of the country

We do not use Craigslist. Zillow is the best place for rentals.

I never had much success posting sale my listings on Craigslist, however, all the millennials I know look for rentals there.

I've never posted anything on Craigslist, and doubt I ever will.
