Allow myself some self-pity time -- maybe 15 minutes and then find my inner Cher(from Moonstruck) and snap out of it.  Each of us has to deal with the loss of MOJO in our own way.   I hope your friend does.

HOPE...and the reminder that earthly tragedies and hardships are temporal.

Re-frame that mindset positively on HOPE, not on hopelessness.

I shift with the changes in our business. I think that if you keep your eyes wide open, staying atop the changes that are inevitable in every business and embrace those changes, you'll keep that MOJO strong and steady.

A positive attitude helps and sometimes, we all have to self-adjust in that department!

Best of luck to your friend - she hasn't 'lost' her MOJO, she just needs to revive it, Bob Crane!

I just power through as necessary. Life is hard, then you die. Not sure this is the most "positive" message, but it works for me. Then again, I'm just a product of my Prussian upbringing.

Sometimes it's okay to take a little down time - break away from the normal day to day routine and do something different. When you come back, the Mojo may have returned.

And I agree with Andrew about the music. I find surrounding myself with music can definitely help improve everything.

It's a state of mind....

it's similar to having a tough time lifting the bar off the floor.. if you're not mentally ready, it won't happen.... but if you're psyched and indestructible that day, add the plates!!!

Cows, humor, and an ear to bend,

Cows: are characters who help remind me not to be to serious. Plus this time of year they are a comedy show.

Humor: Laughter is the best medicine, helps me to relieve stress.

An ear to bend: Every one has bad days, sometimes I need to vent to someone about a situation, might seem silly but I always feel revived afterwords and able to keep on going!

I think that sometimes things just snowball & it looks or feels that way. When you try too hard, it might be good to back off & let things lay out for themselves.

If you find a secret formula in all this, please share it lol.

Sleep, rock music, technology... oh and fresh black coffee. I grew up on a farm and digging in, working yourself out of a funk satisfies like a snicker bar. Count your blessings does not hurt either round the clock. Be grateful. If it is to be it is up to me... something to remember. Recreational water sight and sound fixes everything. Park yourself by some to unplug and recharge.

Seriously . . . I have been there. The only thing TO do is look up and around, count the smallest blessings, and express gratitude. Surround yourself with beauty and be there for someone else who needs the same thing.

I have 3 things aside from my husband edgeing me onward....

  1. A 1,000,000.00 dollar bill tacked to my computer monitor to edge toward my financial goals
  2. A collage of various pictures of Italy for my next vacation
  3. A picture on my phone of me throwing money up in the air to remind me of my success

Those help motivate me

Sometimes i have a dip in the day and when that happens I do something fun or go get a Starbucks. When there is a pattern a career adjustment may be in order. That doesn't mean abandoning it but reinventing it and making it more interesting or fun may be in order.

That is a tough one Bob.  I feel it comes from within. We really need to dig deep and ask for strength to rise above. For me it boils down to doing things I just don't want to do.  DO IT anyway and sing and dance while doing it. Create the feel good.

Death by pasta!

That is how agents go out of business. They stay inside the lines, follow the instuctions of people located in Oregon. And slowly fade away.

I lean in the direction of Endre Barath, Jr. but in the context that PAIN confirms you are alive. Pain confirms you are LIVING.

I would ask all readers, "When was the last time you did anything ALL OUT, Pedal to the metal? Ran as fast as you could until you stop, sucking for your last breath, barely able to remain standing?"

Pressed the weights overhead until wobbling arms collapsed.

Stayed up to 4am to make that chapter in your book perfect.

Jumped out of a perfectly good plane, pointed the raft into the white water, signed up and laid down your $300 to be in that marathon.

Get your MOJO back by proving to yourself you can PREVAIL when you have control. YOU CAN.

Then, and only then, can you realize is not you, it is simply what you are doing. So, change what you doing and choose to do the hard stuff and do it all out.
