Yes, I was an R.S.V.P. Captain in The Bay Area.
- Real Estate Volunteer Program.
We would descend on our local "aged & alone" community with hundreds of Realtors & tradesmen; it was a one day event annually and usually covered about 2 dozen homes selected through organizations like senior centers, "Meals on Wheels", etc.
The tradesmen would tackle repairs and we would do things like house cleaning, yard work, just sitting and chatting with the recipient, etc. Their home would be a bee-hive of DIY and cleaning.
They were typically either over 70 years of age and alone or handicapped and alone and would need help with basics. For some, changing a high ceiling light bulb was a blessing.

Oh yes, many times. I hope to much more often next year too!
I like to give back when I can, and one thing I always have is time to give, which is one thing many not-for-profits need people for, especially during the typical work day.

the closest to volunteering for a real estate related event was to be appointed to the Franklin Housing Partnership to assist with affordable housing....

Yes, on many levels.
From finding property for emergency shelters, to Habitat and serving on revitalization boards.

Not sure I totally duplicate the intent of the questions (or maybe the intent was to be totally wide open). I have not ever served on an re association board or committee. I have volunteered to non-paying service positions in the office to help other agents and carry out various office sponsered events. Also community service days with the office. And of course I have had a few client relationships that ended up being "volunteer" work.

Winston Heverly I volunteered for a local program that was sponsored by the Association. Our office and many others painted the interior of the house. Others did yard work, etc.

Keller Williams always has Red Day which is huge. Our Association of Realtors and MLS always have community give back programs through out the year. Very rewarding to partake. Mark

Thanks for an overwelming response to my question of the day. I think this has been the best so far since i started posting questions. One of things I have done pesonally was to participate in a neighborhood clean-up effort.

Winston Heverly came so close at RED DAY of Keller Williams this year!
And other than that, thinking, what would that be, related to real estate requires volunteers....

Grievance committees and Professional standards panels ten years worth. Great for learning, forgiving your fellow agents and also holding them accountable too. Highly recommended

I volunteer all the time but when possible I try to keep it out of my business.

Besides Habitat, we do disaster relief out of our local and state boards like when tornados hit the metro area.
