Creating Altars to enhance the energy flow for your life by Feng Shui LI Now please do not be alarmed or turned off when you hear the word "altar."  We create mini modern day altars all the time in our homes, cars, cubicles and offices, sometimes with knowing this fact or not.  What is an altar some may ask? First it will depend on the person constructing the altar which will give meaning to it's definition. Typically an altar is an arrangement of the four elements (earth, wind, fire, water) if that is your focus, along with any other additional objects or images to achieve your intention for its creating.  Some use altars to give thanks, attain rejuvenation, to show acknowledgment, some may pray or use it as a place to honor loved ones who have passed away and so on. Again, the creatio...

It's amazing what a little De-cluttering can do by Feng Shui Manhattan NY De-cluttering is one of the most recognized principles in Feng Shui, while being the easiest but also the most time consuming process. Is it worth it you may ask? Absolutely.  When you re-organize or de-clutter it's more than just decorating. It symbolizes you re-organizing your life, which mirrors how you see the world and how the world sees you.  Below is a step by step process of transformed space which took about 45 minutes to an hour.  The reason it took that long was because I had to carefully go threw all the paperwork that was on the floor in the photos below. The one major moved from my office was a smaller book shelf.  It was moved into the dining room.  You'll see this at the end of the post.           ...

Horizon Shores Condominium is located at 666 Shore Road, located between Neptune and Roosevelt Boulevards in Long Beach, NY. The building is located directly on the beach and is one block east of the boardwalk.   Horizon Shores is one of only a few condominiums on the Shore Road area of the East end of Long Beach. The large majority of the buildings in this area are either Co-Ops or rental buildings.   One of the great benefits of living at 666 Shore Road is that the building has direct beach access. Not all buildings have direct beach access from the property and I find this to be a great convenience. The unground heated pool has a great feeling of privacy due to the fact that it is not located on the boardwalk and it overlooks the dunes that protect our wonderful beaches. Each unit a...

The Renaissance luxury condominium is located at 170 W Broadway in Long Beach, New York, which is between National and Magnolia Boulevards. The building was built in 1985 and is ten stories tall. There are 66 condominiums in the building and two of the penthouses units have a separate elevator.   The Renaissance has both studios, one and two bedroom units. There are a few three bedroom units in the building but they rarely become available.   Every unit in The Renaissance has oceanviews. The building was designed so that views are not obstructed from their oversized private terraces. There are a limited number of units that have direct oceanfront views and of course they are the most desirable in the building. Each unit also has a parking spot. There is an indoor garage in the building...

The West End of Long Beach is probably one of the most interesting places you can find in the entire Long Beach, NY area. This area is quickly becoming the trendiest section of town. What was once a community made up primarily of summer bungalows has now been transformed into a vibrant community featuring an extensive variety of restaurants and bars and also some great shopping.   The biggest allure is most certainly the amazing beaches that can be found in the Long Beach Area. Although parking has always been an issue in the West End Of Long Beach, this area certainly is very walkable. There is no reason that you can walk or bike around the area and it is certainly more enjoyable. It is hard to walk around the town and not see an abundance of surfers towing their surfboards on their bi...

SHOULD RE AGENTS HAVE TO SELL THEIR OWN HOMES TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THEIR CLIENTS?   The other day I got an interesting phone call from a real estate agent I met several years ago, before I was even in the business. The previous evening I was showing a client homes and one of the ones we toured just happened to be this agent's personal residence. We recognized each other - sort of - but chose not to play catch-up at that exact moment. The next morning, I received a call from this lovely woman asking if I had made the connection. I had. As we caught up on all that had transpired in the last few years, she mentioned that, since her remarriage, it finally felt like the right time to move. Although, during her career, she had probably sold too many properties to count, personally, she had r...

Exploring Long Beach New York with Feng Shui Long Island and NYC Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and Father's Day.  Feng Shui Consultant Laura Cerrano spent her weekend working with clients and balancing her time visiting the beach :) Long Beach NY is one of her favorite beaches to visit for it's clean, open, you can catch some great waves for surfing and enjoy a nice walk or run along the board walk.       Feng Shui LI *Carole Provenzale was a Certified Feng Shui Consultant who graduated from the Country's very first School for Feng Shui Studies that was licensed and accredited in 1997. THE MEN AND WOMEN OF REAL ESTATE Was a day in real estate ever meant to be comparable to the antics that take place on reality television? Should we be learning our life lessons along with the Housewives of Orange County or with the cast of Jersey Shore? I find it hard to believe that anyone would go around knocking down another agent's open house signs. OKAY, I GET IT. It's a dog eat dog world.   Still, I want to believe that there is more than enough business to go around. There are plenty of houses that go up for sale each season and there's never any justification for fighting over them.  But the stories I hear leave me shaking my head. There was the one agent who told a family of five (3 young children) to "have fun living in the streets" as the home was nearing foreclosure; the li...

SILVER LINING CHRONICLES  - GROWING OLD IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART Dr. Oz says that a heart will beat for as long as it has reason to. This is one woman's story.  In March, 2011, I was asked by a charitable organization if I was available to provide companionship to an elderly woman who had recently taken residence in a care facility  Armed with a natural affinity towards seniors and a long-forgotten college internship at a local nursing home, I agreed. I was told this patient had indicated a desire to be read to and on the first day, I brought a book with me intending to pass our first hour just this way. When I arrived, it was immediately clear to me that this patient was in poorer health than I had originally been led to believe and the book never came out of my purse that first d...
