On the south end of town lies the lovely Laguna Lake neighborhood. This area stretches from the intersection of two major roads- Madonna and Los Osos Valley Road- all the way to Foothill Road and up to the world famous Madonna Inn. Living in this side of town puts you in the middle of anything you might need. Residents have easy access to many chain and local grocery stores, Costco, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, and more. You can enjoy fine dining at Upper Crust Italian Restaurant or grab a burger and watch the game at the sports bar, Laguna Grill. There are three well maintained parks, one of which includes access to the eponymous lake.  There are hiking trails along both Madonna Mountain and Irish Hills that allow you to explore nature in your own back yard. This neighborhood even ...

I follow Mr. Celente and listen to any interviews he does.  He publishes a paper called Trend Research.  I have read it, and it is one of those must reads for anyone interested in our economy or the global political happenings.  Here is a link to the interview and you can listen to it by clicking on the MP3 tag. http://www.kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/Broadcast/Entries/2013/5/26_Gerald_Celente.html   Thanks to all my loyal readers and I wish each and everyone of you a Great Memorial Day.  Please remember all of those who gave their lives for our freedoms, and those brave men and women that protect us from harm!  Who knew? Not only do we have many bearing fruit trees planted on public property, but at least two entities have gone to the trouble of mapping their locations. These trees can be easily found by studying the maps here and here. Loquats, strawberry guava, lemons, oranges, apples, plums, asian pears, and pluots are only a few of the trees you can find and pick from. If you are craving berries, here's the site for public berry bushes, including the ever-popular and hard-to-find blueberries. Spend an afternoon searching out these hidden gems. My plum tree's fruit is ripening; in a week or two, it will be ready to harvest. There are oranges and lemons hanging for the picking right now!

If you are looking for real estate in San Luis Obispo, this article might help you discover which area is the right fit for you. The historic Railroad District is one of the most distinctive and sought after neighborhoods. One visit is enough to see why people are clamoring to live here. The area is most easily distinguished by its quiet, tree-lined streets and charming homes with a craftsman style architecture that hearkens back to a bygone era. The area is popular with young professionals and families who enjoy spending sunny days at Emmerson and Mitchel Parks or taking a stroll to the many restaurants including Sally Loo's Wholesome Cafe, Lotus Asian Cuisine, and Cafe Roma. Residents also enjoy being walking distance from the excitement of Downtown San Luis Obispo, but being far eno...

Although San Luis Obispo is a relatively small city, you can find that each of its neighborhoods has a distinct feel and personality. If you are searching for real estate in San Luis Obispo, consider starting in The Arbors. This enchanting neighborhood is located in the northwest corner of the city and offers plenty of amenities for any prospective buyer. Not only are these neighborhoods well planned with several parks to enjoy, but downtown is just a short drive away.  There is ample access to shopping, restaurants, local coffee shops, hiking trails, and the San Luis Obispo Country Club and golf course. Arbor's residents also enjoy the more moderate weather and less wind in the spring being nestled in rolling hills. The area also boasts views of the award-winning wineries that are rig...

Wow!  The Case-Shiller Home Prices Index was up 9.3% for February!  This is the best price rise in 7 years.  So you have to go back to 2006 for price increases higher than now.  Are we in another bubble?  I don't think so, since the prices were so depreased for 6 years they are finally caughting up with inflation.  We think that we are looking at 3 more years of price increases in the 6-7% a year  range per year ( or 25% for 3 years) for single family homes. Visit my web site at www.myslohomefinder.com for all your real estate needs in Atascadero, Paso Robles, Templeton, San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Nipomo, Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria, and Los Osos California.   The Day Ahead:Case-Shiller, Chicago PMI, Consumer Confidence       ...

Mortgage Rates Are Unchanged Today!    The Day Ahead:Jobless Claims, Philly Fed's Composite Index, Yesterday’s Beige Book           The March employment report wasn't very good and the April employment report, at least based on weekly Jobless Claims, doesn't look to be very good either. Initial claims rose 4,000 last week which is the week that the Labor Department took its sample for the monthly employment report. A comparison with the latest week and the March sample week shows a 14,000 rise (352,000 vs 348,000) with the 4-week average showing a very big 20,500 rise (361,250 vs 340,750).Business activity in Mid-Atlantic manufacturing is flat this month with details pointing to trouble. The Philly Fed's Composite Index came in above zero, at plus 1.3 to show minimal monthly growth. The...

We hope that all have a great Tuesday, and I personally wish that we had more inventory out there!  All of these buyers and not enough quality and moderately priced housing.  How fast the market changes!  Just over a year and a half ago we didn't have the buyers!  Shows us that the "herd mentality" is well and good! I wish people would follow the old saying, "buy when it is hated!". Where are rates going?  They have risen a little, but are holding steady now.  We have a battle between cheap government money and the first signs of inflation.  Who will win?  It depends on what the inflation numbers are, and you have to throw in there jobs and GDP numbers. Visit my web site at www.myslohomefinder.com for all your home needs in San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, Templeton, Paso Robles, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, Shell Beach, Nipomo, Oceano and Santa Margarita California. What's up today: ADP and ISM Attempt to Break Monotony           Private payrolls by ADP's count rose only 158,000 in March which is far below ADP's 237,000 count for February (revised). Note that the government's initial private-payroll count for February is 246,000.Employment is the weak link...

The concept of “starter homes” cropped up after the end of the Second World War, when millions of young families took advantage of low-cost new developments to gain a foothold in homeownership: the emblematic first step in fulfilling the American Dream. Today’s first-time San Luis Obispo home buyers are a lot less predictable—just as the market itself is altogether different. As we recover from the previous years’ economic declines, which temporarily suppressed the number of San Luis Obispo home buyers, the combination of low interest rates and historically affordable home prices allows many to aim for bigger and more accommodating housing— skipping the starter home altogether. For sure, the market hasn’t completely abandoned the starter home idea—especially if you include San Luis Obis...

I watched a shocking video.  It talks about what people think the wealty difference is in the U.S.A. is, and what they think is the ideal.  Then, it shows what the actual reality is!  It is shocking and a must see! Don't watch it if you don't want to be enlightened!  What it shows is that the poor are getting poorer, and the middle class is disappearing with much less wealty, but the 1% have vastly increased their wealty in the last 30 years. We all should be selling and marketing million dollar plus estates! This video is a must see!  It is almost like watching the Matrix.    Morphias offers Neo  the choice between a red pill and a blue pill. The blue pill would allow him to remain in the fabricated reality of the Matrix. The red pill would lead to his escape from the Matrix and into t...

I watched an interesting show on "60 Minutes" last Sunday.  It showed "ghost towns" in China where people had bought condos and homes in developments as speculations.  The problem was that no one lived there.  I wondered how many of these properties were bought with credit.  I wonder if this bubble could take out their economy and ours if it "pops".  Then on top of this we have seen signs of inflation coming back.  I hope we aren't looking at the "stagflation" of the 1970s returning! See my web site at www.myslohomefinder.com for all your San Luis Obispo County home search needs. The Day Ahead: ADP, Factory Orders, Beige Book           ADP does not show improvement for private payrolls, at plus 198,000 in February vs an upwardly revised 215,000 in January. Though the month-to-month comp...
