Kitesurfing at the Beach in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA in November   A blustery fall day made for terrific kitesurfing at the beach in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California this past weekend. Indeed, because of the wind and the cold (OK 50 degrees and wind is chilly here in SoCal) there wasn't too much else going on at the beach in the early morning except kitesurfing and a few brave surfers in wetsuits.  I personally like both feet on the ground, unless I'm flying, and a bunch of other land-lovers were out to watch the kitesurfers tackle the wind and the waves. It was pretty cool to watch, despite the chill and wind.   Kitesurfing is sorta like flying a big kite, except you use the kite to pull you along on your surf board. Sounds easy, looks hard.  In case you didn't know what kitesurfing was, n...

I saw this van parked along the coast road in Cardiff-by-the Sea (a.k.a. Cardiff) across from the beach. No doubt it belongs to a surfer, judging from the wetsuit hanging outside. I was stopped at the light and fortunately had a few seconds to snap a photo. You see all sorts of interesting vehicles here in California, especially near the beach. This one was a real prize, I think. I would have liked to have met the owner!! It's a slice of surfing life here in SoCal.

Short Sale Process Explained - Cardiff by the Sea California - Short Sale My Home Do you think you are in a potential short sale situation?  Do you know your options?   You do have them... Overview:   Short sales typically occur when a borrower is in a situation where the home is worth less than what is owed to the lender on the property.   In some cases depending on the borrowers situation, the lender may approve a short sale which allows the property to be sold for less than the amount owed.   In this case the lender approves the short sale and takes less, and the borrower is no longer responsible to pay the loan.   In some cases the lender can ask that the borrower take back a loan to pay the deficiancy amount between what was owed and what the property sold for.   However, in many ...

What happens when you order a trash bin that is too big for the job? We just closed Escrow on this property in Cardiff and they decided to some work on the place. Next thing they know they are doing a bigger remodel and order a bigger trash bin from the local Waste Management Company. So they deliver the trash bin to the property. The truck operator asks the Owner "where do you want it?" The Owner says "Just in the drive way so we can still get in and out of the Garage." Well the truck operator did not have the bin connected to the cable and as the lift raised it came shooting off the back of the truck and smashed the garage like a freight train! Nobody was hurt thank goodness! I mean seriously that could have killed someone... Craziness! Here are the photos of what happened! Enjoy, and...

Market is starting to crawl back after the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit disappeared. It was like our Market came to a screeching halt once the Credits disappeared. Even with the interest Rates as low as they are it still couldn't help. This has been the case for the last month in a half! I mean the showings went from 3 a week to nothing, zip, nada! Has anyone else noticed this or is it just in San Diego? I did hear a strong rumor that the Tax Credit is coming back in September! Maybe that will get some of these Buyers up off the couch again... Then again maybe not...

The Secret Bank Formula Sowhat is the Banks Secret Formula? Why is it when a Bank Owned property comes on the market in my area they have to wait so many days before they can reduce their price? Even when they know they have listed it way to high from the beginning! I recently submitted an offer of $610,000 for my client on a Bank Owned property listed at $689,000. The Listing Agent said that is a good offer and that it will probably go for around that price but, for now they are only allowed to reduce it by 5% and the lowest they can go is $650,000... Why do they not want to sell it right away? I guess I thought they would be a little smarter than that! Does anybody really know the Secret Bank Formula? Does the Bank even know their own Secret Formula? I truly think they do not know! Ch...
