Home.com is going to give you a basic package of SEO. That is nothing that you could not learn yourself to do. It is just the very basics. They are not going to be doing any back link building, at least I hope not. They were Google slapped some years back for bad SEO strategies. They were also creating some pretty bad linking farms. A broker came to me who unfortunately did not know that the Google penalties travel with your domain name. She used her company name as her domain name and homes.com put her in one of those rings she did not even know anything about. When we did a website audit we discovered she had over ONE MILLION links linking to her domain. She had to do a disavow and that was a manual project back then. For most people, they could have just forgotten about the domain but it was the name of her company so she had no choice but to clean it up. Google had penalized her domain. So that is the other issue with big companies. Then she had to hire an attorney to force homes to get rid of a lot of the domains too. It was a mess. Even JC Penny's got caught doing the same kind of thing. So be careful. I always say, learn it yourself first, then you can hire a virtual assistant to do the steps for you. This way you are in control and you know what and why the steps are being applied. Hope that helps.

SEO is so hard as google keeps changing the rules. Quality "follow" backlinks, such as those with Active Rain, keyword anchor links, fresh content with H1 and H2 headers with keywords and fresh content all work together to give good SEO. Unfortunately, the latest google changes gives far more credibility to national websites such as Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com, Craigslist, etc and it becomes very hard to complete with other local websites for the remaining first page spots. This is google's way of forcing locals to buy adwords to be seen.

It's a process and just when you think you've mastered it, Google changes their requirements! AR has some great free webinars that can help you get started.

Run & take your wallet with you. They are horrible, you can do better elsewhere.
When websites first came out I was their victim for around 5 years I think. Wow 2 leads in 5 years .... excellent.

All I can say is BE CAREFUL OUT THERE. There are so many self-professed SEO Guru's who truly can't find their butts with both hands. They take you money and run. There are many good free classes here in the Rain on SEO ... learn it and manage your own business and SEO.

Content is always good in SEO. My SEO Consultant is in Canada and always recommended creating unique content. But you have to be very careful about rss feeds. That might hurt your rankings because of duplicate content.

Content is always good in SEO. My SEO Consultant is in France and always recommended creating unique content. But you have to be very careful not to give your content away to other sites (this sometimes happens automatically via rss feeds). That might hurt your rankings because of duplicate content.

You create a local cyber library of information. Do that consistency and have websites that re intuitive, easy to deliver what the busy buyer needs and your business will grow. Online and off.

Check SEO group on ActiveRain - you may learn a few things here and implement it yourself and not throw the money away..

I knew an agent that had great success with Homes.com but when I went with them I got almost no leads. So I dropped them after a couple of months. Since then it is my policy not to pay for leads!

Before I started blogging they find me on the internet quickly. Suggest you hire one of these SEO gurus. UofM, A^2 high, India. It takes 2-3 months and it costs $250-500 per months. I agree with Lynnea Miller 's remarks 100%.
KW site for agent is worthless. I got one faked lead after 5 years. But you have your own which is good. The SEO guru can redo your webpage. Tracking traffic clicks etc. I have passed your Plymouth office in the past. Good luck,
Sam Shueh
