Land in Albuquerque is hard to find.  There are a lot of places to rent for an arm and leg.

every builder in my area is looking for land and that's what I'm marketing for....getting tons of calls from land owners.... picking up listings of land owners' homes too!!!  

I am seeing the same thing and many investors are filling this need with rent to own properties. Our sellers through MLS are not so interested in doing this.

Larry Johnston Haven seen or heard of anyone writing a land contract in quite a while. I assume you are referring to a Contract for Deed.

Depending on where you want the land there is still an abundance of it available

Not much land around Charlotte, so not an issue. Renters, yes. But I don't do rentals, so don't have any real feel for the market. I do have lots of first time buyers right now who are deciding they'd rather buy and pay their own mortgage than their landlord's mortgage and it's cheaper.

 It seems as if we are running into a shortage of inventory as well. I have been talking to a BOLD coach and he is going to help reduce strategizing.

I can do some owner carries on land. Rent to own is sparse on residential listings. 

Our rental market in the Las Vegas area is pretty active, as many people are still waiting out the timeframes for mortgage financing after a distressed sale. In 12+ years I've never written or even seen a land contract.
