I have thought about it. It depends on what I think the problem is.

I don't like to quit on people. I provide honest and open feedback, if the sellers choose not to take it, and dont accept multiple offers I am bringing them, in it for the long haul. I have fired clients, but more for malice not because their house which I represent is not selling. Good luck.

Not unless THEY are the reason it is not selling. IF they are being difficult, there is no reason to have a tortured relationship and I would terminate the relationship. Sometimes the mere threat of that turns them around.

Hi Debbie - some sellers are not ready to sell. If there is no motivation. There can be no sale. I would and have suggested cancelling the listing after discussing with the broker.

It depends on why I think the property isn't selling. I have "given back" a listing or two because it was clear the property couldn't support the asking price and the sellers wouldn't reduce. At some point, it's time to move on.

During the depth of the recession, I had a listing that stayed on the market for several months. It was a joint effort between the Sellers and the Realtor. We pulled out all the stops, kept in close communication, and the property sold to the perfect Buyers. Sellers become like family when you work together. I have never given up on a listing.

Yes, but I don't. I put more effort into it. If it is overpriced I use the Floyd Wickman method to get a price reduction. If you don't know what that is call me Debbie...

I am no quitter Debbie but I have one with an unreasonable seller. Emotional attached and over priced I do not think this house will sell.

I've done it several times. It usually is the seller not wanting to come to grips with reality...

if a property hasn't sold, it usually needs a price adjustment....price is the cure-all when it comes to stagnant properties.....just my opinion.... everything sells at the right price....

Depends on the why and benefit that may exist to maintain a carreer listing.
I'm renting one front yard becuase the seller stated they will wait for the marekt to catch up to their price. This is a no touch listing so I can wait with them.
The real unknown for me is I do not know what 'try and try' means.
