Burke

This popular Northern Virginia suburb has grown from a small, farming enclave to a vibrant community with more than 60,000 Burke real estate owners. That's mostly because Burke real estate consists of hills and forested areas that provide scenic views not commonly seen in the suburbs. One of the city's larger planned communities, Burke Centre, features five swimming pools, six ponds, and 18 tennis courts. In addition, Burke real estate owners also enjoy all the amenities and advantages that thriving Fairfax County has to offer.

Burke real estate features both contemporary single-family houses and townhouses; many are of the Colonial and Victorian style. Families in particular are attracted to Burke real estate thanks to the suburb's three elementary schools and one secondary school. But commuters also appreciate the easy access to I-95 and I-495 from Burke real estate, as well as the two Virginia Railway Express stations that serve the community. In short, Burke real estate remains an excellent investment for commuters and families alike.

With the median household income one of the highest in the country, it's not surprising that the value of Burke real estate increases every year. If you're interested in finding Burke real estate, search for Burke homes for sale now.

Fairfax

Fairfax is a thriving, independent city adjacent to Washington, D.C. Fairfax real estate owners take pride in the city's long history, whose bicentennial anniversary was celebrated in 2005. George Washington's will is still filed at the Fairfax Courthouse and much of the city's historic charm is evident in Old Town Fairfax. A major attraction is the Chocolate Lover's Festival, held annually around Valentine's Day. The less romantic, however, may prefer to take in a sports event at the Patriot Center, which is also located on Fairfax real estate. With all this and more to offer both visitors and Fairfax real estate owners, buying a home in this vibrant city is a smart investment.

Believe it or not, not all Fairfax real estate is part of Fairfax County. However, the county administers the two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school owned by the city. Many families are attracted to Fairfax real estate, not only because of the city's excellent primary schools but also because of George Mason University, which boasts more than 30,000 students as the state's second largest university. Commuters also appreciate the short commute to Washington, D.C. from Fairfax real estate.

Fairfax Station

Located in Fairfax County, Fairfax Station real estate is characterized by wooded lots, rolling hills, and large, upscale homes. The town grew up around the original Fairfax Station, a rail line hub constructed in the mid-1850s, and was the last operating railroad station in the county when it closed in 1973. Two years later, a group of Fairfax Station real estate owners organized a reconstruction of the station, which now houses a museum and community center. Today, there is no commercial development of Fairfax Station real estate, which only adds to the community's natural beauty and low crime rates. Many of the stores and amenities used by the community are located in the nearby towns of Clifton and Burke.

Fairfax Station is often cited as one of the best places to live - and retire to - in the Washington, D.C. area. The more than 20,000 Fairfax Station real estate owners that populate the community's high-priced homes tend to be commuters, either to Washington, D.C. or to major county employers like Fort Belvoir, Gannett, Nextel, Capital One, and General Dynamics. Several excellent schools also call Fairfax Station real estate home. In short, Fairfax Station real estate is highly desirable and well worth the investment.

Clifton

Clifton real estate offers old-fashioned, small-town charm in a suburban Washington, D.C.. setting. The town, called the "Brigadoon of Virginia," sits in the southwest corner of Fairfax County; nearby Chapel Road Park still has remnants of the town's railroad past. The oldest building on Clifton real estate dates back to 1771 and many century-old Colonial and Victorian homes still line Main Street. Even Hollywood has found inspiration in this quaint suburb's natural beauty: the movie "Sleepless in Seattle" was written here and scenes from the movie "Broadcast News" were filmed on Clifton real estate.

Clifton real estate owners enjoy a leisurely atmosphere in this designated National Historic District. Many outdoor enthusiasts appreciate the wide open spaces that characterize Clifton real estate. In 2003, the new Clifton Heights development pushed the town's population to just over 200 and helped increase the value of Clifton real estate. And yet, Clifton real estate remains some of the most affordable. Many companies have their headquarters in this area and several high-tech firms call Clifton real estate home. Indeed, new residents to the area regularly choose to buy (rather then rent) Clifton real estate, with its easy access to downtown Washington, D.C. And with its great location and convenient Metro access as well as the excellent Fairfax County public schools, Clifton real estate is ideal for both families and commuters alike.
