I was daydreaming my love for cycling and the days when I was in such great shape propelled in large part by strong legs, lungs and heart. When you are in a legal proceeding, would you have the lawyer representing the person sitting across the table from you represent you as well? The answer is so simple. Of course not. Why then when buying a house or property which for many people represents one of the largest financial decisions of their lives would you utilize the Realtor who represents the Seller(s) to safeguard your best interests as the Buyer(s)? The United Health Foundation's (UHF) ranking of each state's overall health based upon a detailed accumulation of factors and risks has named Vermont as the #1 healthiest state in the country for 2012. Vermont achieves the top ranking four years running having earned the honor in 2011, 2010, 2009. Vermont's Governor, Peter Shumlin said at a recent press conference in the state capital "We are doing well compared to the other 49 states, but we are not doing well enough." If you have a buyer who has considered a new build (in the Burlington, VT area) as well as an established city home there are things to remind them of as a buyer's agent. Do they mind the sound of hammering and sawing (7:00 am to 4:00 pm) 6 days a week? Do they mind the dirt and debris blowing around? Do they mind the smell of diesel fuel and sound of heavy equipment? It could be three to five years before the build out is far enough along to not be troublesome. Some think it is worth it. (I do) but it is a personal choice that you should discuss with them. Another question is how much work do they do from home? Many jobs allow 50% to 100% work from home. This weekend, I had the pleasure of viewing the musical 'Rent' at The Flynn Theatre in Burlington, Vermont. I had seen the show many years ago in New York City, however this Lyric Theatre version trumped Manhattan. The cast of twenty six was filled with vibrant energy. The audience applauded the show heartily and I have never seen a crowd as enthusiastic as the crowd in Burlington this weekend. What a show! When you only have five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes in a year be sure to spend a few if them seeing 'Rent'! 11/11/2012

The Flynn Theatre located at 153 Main Street in Burlington, Vermont will be hosting the play 'Rent' from Thursday November 8th through Sunday November 11, 2012. Shows are at 7:30 Thursday through Saturday nights with 2:00 matinees on Saturday and Sunday. 'Rent' was modeled after the opera La Boheme and is a modern day rock opera dealing with young artists and musicians trying to make their way in New York City. Discover Halloween magic at UVM's Horse Barn on Monday October 29th from 5:00 - 6:30. Horses at UVM's Cooperative Horse Barn will be dressing up for the holiday! Children can enjoy trick or treating at the barn (with or without costume) and adults can enjoy purchasing treats from the bake sale. Admission is free.   The UVM Horse Barn is a cooperative barn run by UVM students who bring their horses with them to college (and I thought it was tough to bring a dog to school??).
