The date is set for May 6th. The Grand opening of the Harris Teeter "Your Neighborhood Food Market" in Crozet Virginia. Located jest west of Charlottesville! The Crozet Gazette did a feature story on it: Click Here Here is part of the story: "Harris Teeter will open its Crozet store in the Blue Ridge Shopping Center on Rt. 250 May 6 with an 8 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by corporate officials. The 42,000-square-foot store is the chain's first designed to meet LEED standards for environmentally sustainable buildings" Many of my clients in the Crozet Area are excited about this local store! The convenience is surely welcome!

One of the newest of the Charlottesville golf communities is Old Trail.   You will have a hard time finding another golf course anywhere with Blue Ridge Mountain views to match those Old Trail.  This neighborhood is located in Crozet Virginia about a 10 minute drive west of Charlottesville at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Old Trail golf course is open to the public, but memberships are available as well.  This course has been voted Charlottesville's favorite place to play golf for two years.  The 18 hole course has multiple tees to accomodate all skill levels of golfers.  Old Trail's golf facility has a club house with a golf shop and grille.  There is also a pavillion which offers the perfect spot for weddings, private parties and events set against the backdrop of the Blue...

Today in Charlottesville! The kids got a two hour delay from school and all is grand in Charlottesville. Everyone came out to enjoy the light snow (about an inch) .... see photo I took below: I know that the weather can be inconvenient for many people. Delays in school, work etc... I for one just like to get out and enjoy it! I hope you do too?

When you do something new you want to learn from those who have experience. When you are looking at new construction in the Charlottesville Area do you need an Agent? The short answer is YES... Let's ask ourselves a few questions: How many times have you had a home built? How many builders do you know? Will you have the builder/county inspector tell you that your home is built to code? Does a "certificate of occupancy" mean the home is done? As with anything new you need the guidance of an expert. Use a REALTOR to get you though the many addition stages of building a home. But do be sure that you Agent has experience with new construction... And I do not mean they took a course or have a certificate. I mean first hand experience... The relationship between an Agent and a Client is so m...

This is one of the few photos that I have of me as a child. It sits on my piano next to pictures of my children. It is hard to believe that I was once this young. Time is so fast when you are not thinking about it. I hope that you all enjoy your time together and a very Merry Christmas to all!

I gotta tell you I have some great clients and some have a fantastic sense of humor. Here is one of my clients dog (dressed for Halloween): Now the message from my clients said: "Charles, thought you might enjoy seeing the dog's Halloween costume. The toughest part was getting the bow on; the rest was natural to his character" What a great sense of humor!!!

They are at it again... Back in Nov of 2007 I posted: JUST LOWER the PRICE!!! I just got an email offering a Car with the purchase of a new home locally in the Charlottesville area. The builder is offering a 2009 Hyundai Accent if you close in 2008. Now they do mention: "If your client prefers, seller is willing to provide credits, upgrades, or price reductions in the amount of $15,000 as an offset to the car." Am I crazy or is this wrong? 1. Just reduce the price of the home to reflect the true value of the home (which is at least 15K lower). 2. Will a lender (in this market) allow a car to be part of a purchase contract? maybe they are using a certain lender, this is not mentioned... (((NOTE: it does say "Subject to lender approval"))) 3. What if I want a motorcycle instead? LOL (just...

The movie "Evan Almighty" was filmed in Crozet Virginia, just outside of Charlottesville. It was in a wonderful neighborhood called Old Trail at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains.  This is a photo I took of the ARC being built. It was amazing and as I showed Real Estate in Old Trail with a client, we drove by an elephant that splashed my truck with water! I am amazed at how many movies have been filmed in our little area near Charlottesville Virginia! I hope you got a chance to see the movie?

Old Trail Village Center is well underway! This is a mixeduse, open-air, retail, entertainment, office and residential center located at Old Trail directly at the base of the Blue Ridge. The area currently has 2600 planned homes. There are 400-12,000 SF spaces available for shops, resturants etc... slated to open at the end of 2008. Segway will be one of the stores, we are already seeing pizza, hair salons and coffee shops too... What for more details!!! Well actually to Old Trail, located in Crozet Virginia. The town center has announced that Segway will be opening a store in the Old Trail town center. This is great! If you have read my blog you know that this development has both sidewalks and trails. Many people have already discovered that Segway PT's are a fun, ultra-economical and environmentally friendly way for today's urban commuter to get around town!     Not to mention GOLF!!! Soon you will be seeing folks zipping along on their Segway with ZERO emissions! Have you seen the off-road versions of the Segway? What fun! I want one too!!!

The town of Crozet is really not very big. I often hear from people who are visiting that say today, we are driving out to Crozet. I have mixed thoughts when I hear that. First, I love Crozet but to me it is more of a feeling that a place. Second, I think people expect to find a small town and it is not really even that. Sure there are a few restaurants, a store, a post office, a library and even a train but Crozet is more about the feeling and the area at the base of the Blue Ridge. Here is an example, when you drive under the train tracks of many places you see graffiti. In Crozet here is what you will see: I love the fact that where (in some towns) you might see graffiti, in Crozet you see Art!!! You may not see more than a few buildings in a couple of blocks when you visit Crozet, ...
