Grapevine, TX Real Estate News

Grapevine is a city in North Texas with portions in Denton, Dallas, & Tarrant counties.  It was known in its early years as Grapevine Prairie. As of the 2010 census the city population was 46,334. The city is named for wild mustang grapes prevalent in the area.  In recent years several wineries have opened in Grapevine, and the city has been very active in maintaining its historic downtown area. Grapevine citizens' concerns were heard but ignored at the Grapevine City Council meeting last night.  Many Grapevine residents were concerned about the final Parks and Recreation Master Plan.  Their concerns were that the city council were not thinking about protecting the wildlife areas around the lake, while making plans to expand soccer fields, hiking trails, and the dreaded concrete parking...

Are you currently behind on your mortgage payments and facing the possibility of foreclosure? If so, please consider a short sale for your Fort Worth area home. A short sale is when the lender agrees to accept less than what is owed on the loan, and it's a process that I can help you with. The first steps are generally speaking with your lender and asking them to send you a short sale package. In this package, you'll fill out information about your finances and show why you are unable to make your payments. It also helps to include a hardship letter detailing the events that led up to your inability to continue paying your mortgage. From this point, we list your home for sale. Sometimes, the lender will provide an approved price or give an idea of the ballpark price that they'd be willi...

My husband and business partner in real estate is also a firefighter in Grapevine. He happens to be on the water rescue team there where every Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day brings loads of activity, to keep it rated E for everyone. This 4th of July may be different. His interest in water rescue efforts lead him to join the Texas Task Force where he is trained in swift water rescue and responds to emergencies in other parts of the state, other parts of the country, if need be. This week, a storm is brewing. He is highly likely to be deployed to south Texas to help in the event the water rises as a result of flooding from Tropical Storm Alex. He is likely to be deployed today to prepare for what lies ahead. He is likely to be gone a week, but we never really know. The biggest st...

Today I remember a favorite house sold, a favorite client -- Carl Trehus. Todd, I am thinking of you. The house as newly vanilla built in the 80s before Carl's landscaping. Courtesy of his family. The house after Carl's landscaping, as listed for sale over 20 years later in 2009. It was an interesting first phone call. I recall it vividly and I treasure every word he said, but I'm not sharing because it involves others who need to remain nameless and the way it began needs to be our secret to my grave, too. God works in mysterious ways... Carl was a member of the Citizen's Fire Academy in Grapevine where my husband is a fire fighter. Carl also lived in our old neighborhood. Carl wasn't just a member of the academy, he was like, the ring leader. The head cheerleader. Their biggest fan. T...

Grapevine is the essence of Christmas décor, the city becomes blanketed with millions of lights, enormous decorations, animated characters and a whole lot more. Featuring over 1,400 events over 40 days, including classic movies, live entertainment, shopping, dining, and more! Today is one of my favorite, The Parade of Lights through Historic Grapevine's Main Street. Grapevine homes for sale is a very good market to get into.  Grapevine homes can be found for around $100/ft - $120/ft these homes are often on a little bit larger than normal lots and have a variety of different characters.  You can go into one subdivision and find homes that look like one thing and then you can go into a different subdivision and find homes that look like something completely different.   Grapevine has a superb school system as well, as your kids will start low at the grapevine elementary school and work there way up to become a Grapvine mustang.  Grapevine real estate really is a great bargain as it is just out the city limiits of Dallas but still not far enough away to be considerd a long drive.  you would be able to get to downtown dallas within about 15 minutues o...

Our first week up and running was very productive. We had some challenges such as our LLC and deciding on a cool logo, (probably spent too much time on that!) but here it is Sunday night, and we are happy! The awesome part of this process is that usually Sunday night was the time when Jeff would start gearing up for the week ahead, and with that came the "ugh" and "another Monday blues". But as I sit here and type, we are both pumped about our new new clients and the listings we have! Being excited to go to work on Monday is a feeling we haven't felt is a long time. We feel very blessed, and I believe a happy agent is a productive agent. Off to prepare for my new MONDAY!!!!
