Louisa Catherine Johnson was born in London, England back in 1775 to Joshua and Catherine.  She grew up in London and Nantes, France where the family took refuge during the American Revolution.   She met John in her home near Tower Hill, London.  In 1797, they married at the All Hallows-by-the-Tower church.  That same year the family moved to America where her father was appointed as the U.S. Director of Stamps.  He died in Fredrick, Maryland in 1802.  Louisa was sickly and suffered from migraine headaches.  When John was appointed Secretary of State in 1817, the family moved to Washington, D.C. Bose Ikard was born into slavery circa 1843 in Summerville, Mississippi.  Prior to the Civil War he lived with his master becoming a ranch hand.  Post-Civil War he served as tracker and cowboy to Charles Goodnight. He was placed in charge of carrying thousands of dollars in cash until the money could be deposited.His last cattle drive was in 1869, he settled in Parker County Texas where he lived with his wife becoming a farmer.  He died in 1929.What you may not know about Bose is that in 1929, Goodnight was quoted by the Weatherford Daily Herald as saying “I have trusted him farther than any living man.  He was my detective, banker and everything else in Colorado, New Mexico and the other wild country I was in. served with me for four years on the Goodnight-Loving Train.  Never shirked ... 10/24/2020
