Red Hook NY real estate market update for January 2017Home sales increased according to the  Red Hook NY real estate market update forJanuary 2017. There were 5 sales, 2 more than in January 2016. The sale price to list price of these sales came in at 92 percent.Compared to January 2016 both median and average prices fell.  The median price last January was $ 330,000 which was much higher than the $ 227,500 this January. Today it snowed most of the day.  It was fun watching  from my office window as the trees were coated with fluffy snow.The snowstorm finally came to an end in the late afternoon, and  I decided then to shovel the driveway,My timing was good because shortly after I started shoveling,  the sun was setting, the sky seem to be on fire, what a contrast to the fresh snow.I quickly grab the camera to record the day. 12/29/2016

 Butterflies and flowersif you have a variety of flowers you will see many butterflies.  This summer  I saw a lot of these beautiful creatures.It takes patience to get a great shot.  I think they can tell someone is trying to invade their space so they usually fly away.Although it is Fall there are still some flowers so the butterflies keep coming until the hard frost. I will then have to wait until Spring to be awed by these creatures. 09/30/2016

Bearded Lady IrisI love this time of year because a variety of Irises are in bloom.   This one is called the bearded Lady.  Personally I think that is an odd name for a beautiful flower.These bearded flowers come  in a wide variety of colors and is rather easy to grow. 05/22/2016

No this is not about getting a new listing, or a closing, but about the weather in my area.On Saturday I took a few shots of flowers in bloom.  I was happy to see the colors, a sign Spring was really here.  For  those homeowner who refuses to put their home on the market until the landscape is bursting with colors it appears that time was just around the corner. This row of forsythia was irresistible  I think I was getting ahead of myself because a few hours later this was what I saw.The winter was mild here, and it appears  it has decided to take over Spring to makeup for that.  Freezing weather and snow is the forecast for tomorrow.Will the weather system return to normal?  04/03/2016
