Speechless Sunday- Sunset and blueberries are a  few of my favorite things Earlier in the year I stood at this spot and took photographs of the sun setting at various stages.  You might be wondering how blueberries fit into this, well  if you look closely you might notice that this is a blueberry patch. The colorful booth is where you purchase a bucket, then you are given directions as to where you should do the picking.  By now I would have picked my blueberries, however between the heatwave and just being busy I have not yet had a chance to do so. Picking blueberries is a great family pastime and it is not uncommon to see 3 generations having fun together. Red Hook New York Real Estate Market Report for June 2010 \ The  Dutchess County market report saw a jump in the number of sales during June;  Red Hook also had an increase,going from a combined sale of 4 in the town and village to 11 in June. Homes sold in Red Hook ranged from $42,000-$470,000.  The $42,000 property was an older home that was bank owned and in need of work.  Like in the county most of the sales in Red Hook  occurred in the$100,000-$200,000 range.  The range is important because it tells you which properties are moving, therefore if your home is listed and is in a much higher range you should expect it will probably take longer for it to sell.  Red Hook NY Real Estate Market Report - April 2010 In Red Hook NY during the month of April there were 6  single family homes sold ranging from $ 163,000-$459,000.  This was an improvement over the first quarter during which time period there were a total of 11 sales in 3 months.  The numbers were also better than April 2009 If you take a look at the report below you will find 2 numbers for active listings.  The report on the Mid Hudson Multiple listing Service showed 20 active listings however I saw that the most expensive listing for the month valued at $1,999,000 had 2 entries which does change the average list price and average dollar per square feet so by providing the information side by side you can see the differences. Red Hook Seniors Get Ready To Walk! Okay this is not a threat but a fun activity.  Recently the Red Hook recreational department adopted a walking program for Red Hook Seniors. In Red Hook we are fortunate to have a lovely park where many engage in all sorts of sporting activities.  Now seniors will have their own organized walking activity. Red Hook Seniors look at this as an opportunity to meet other seniors in the community and maybe even form new friendships while engaging in a morning walk. Carriage Drive subdivision in Red Hook NY Carriage Drive is one of the newer developments in Red Hook, NY.  It is a part of the area referred to as Linden Acres and is located North West of the Village of Red Hook between Route 9 and Route 9G. The Flower and the ant sounds like a children book.  I took this shot and although I did not consider it a particularly good one what caught my eyes was the small ant.  Spring time sure brings the little creatures out and they seem to gravitate to sweet smelling flowering plants.  Why is that, I wonder?
