My manager, Carolyn Fugere   (see here on the far left with Ali Greene, Patti Anderson and Daniel DeMasi)  has in-exhaustive energy.  She decided to have a haunted house within our office both last year and this year, and my fellow associates worked really hard to make the office look both scary  (but not too scary) but also fun. Mr. Paul Breunich donated the huge Hershey Candy bars for the young ‘trick or treaters ‘ and I understand 215 chocolate bars were given out in just over an hour before the Annual Larchmont Ragamuffin Parade. This wonderful festive event was postponeed this year from October 22nd to Saturday the 29th due to inclement weather but it was well worth the wait! So many wonderful reasons to reside in Larchmont, and this event is one of them! Larchmont is GREAT!

I work with wonderful agents.  Everyone is busy, and we are all working hard to help our collective clients and customers. We work together as a team. As a team, we are successful. My manager, Carolyn Fugere, is an extremely hardworking Manager, who strives for the very best and is constantly volunteering her services for one charity or another. As the President of the Larchmont Chamber of Commerce,  she is constantly planning events for the local businesses/ shop/store owners, and it is hard work! Together, in between  helping us all on a daily basis with her sage advice, recruiting new associates, and always training and teaching us all,  there comes a time when we must all relax and appreciate each other as people. My associates are all great, and I will pop into the office to discove...

Clients are purchasing a wonderful home in Larchmont, New York 10538. Just a few blocks from the train station (yes, you can buy a great home in Larchmont and walk to the trains too!). They also needed to pop into the house and interview some contractors. So, while they were busy  interviewing and asking questions, and after I had completed my emails, I started to look out of the window. The garden is larger than many in the area, at 0.29 of an acre, and the day was sunny and great! Well, so thought the chipmunk too! I had to take a short video of the chipmunk as he/she popped in and out of his abode. Yes, LARCHMONT is GREAT!

This past May marked a wondrous, fun event,  “A Taste of Larchmont” launched and organized by the Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s Larchmont Manager, Carolyn Fugere. Over $24000 was raised for  “My Sister’s Place” , a caring and important organization. (My Sisters’ Place strives to engage each member of society in our work to end domestic violence, so that all relationships can embrace the principles of respect, equality, and peacefulness.  We advance this mission with direct services, advocacy and community education). My Associates in the Larchmont Julia B. Fee office all devoted a great deal of time in procuring donations from the local stores and companies, and being on hand the day of the event to be hosts and hostesses at the various restaurants and stores where people were able to taste ...

It is always fun to treat yourself…. I have heard so many nice things about Le Sirene, which opened in Larchmont after a long awaited opening (8 months in renovation), on June 30th, 2015. A pretty restaurant, with romantic Italian music, the ambiance is definitely in abundance. When I popped in for a quick luncheon, which was slightly later in the day, they nevertheless served me quite graciously. I absolutely loved the pizza oven (of course a necessity), and I also appreciated the linen clad tables, and the menu.  I had heard rave reviews about the grilled Octopus, and so I declined the luncheon Prix-Fixe menu ($28 which included soup//salad, entrée and dessert), and opted for the “Polipetti teneri arrosto con pomodori brasati ”  Tender roasted baby octopus with braised cherry tomat...

The children (and adults) in the Larchmont area are excitedly awaiting for tomorrow’s Ragamuffin Parade in Larchmont. It starts at 1 p.m. from Larchmont Avenue and Palmer Avenue and the little ones (and big ones) parade down the avenue to the Fire Department (with complimentary hot dogs by the Fire Department.  However, the Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s Larchmont office long ago noticed that, with so much excitement and anticipation, the children would arrive very early.. perhaps on the parents’ part to gain better parking, or simply to allow their little ones a wonderful long lasting happy event. SO,  in the hope of helping out the parents and helping to fulfill a wonderful event and long lasting memory for their children, Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s is hosting a “Haunted House” from 11:30 -1 p....

Augie’s, a local landmark for the past 25 years will be closing on the 22nd of October, and (hopefully) opening  by Thanksgiving  at 94 Chatsworth Avenue in Larchmont. Renovations have already begun, and they are very excited at the move.   The menu at Augie’s is vast, and all so tasty…  my sons love the Chicken Parmigiana with the Penne ( 6 portions all for $25.95) and the house salad ( huge as the Donald would say and just $9.95). My family has enjoyed so many delicious family style meals at the restaurant these past years…  I can recall taking one of my sons there with his friends for a Birthday party, and having them choose songs from the accordion player who would be there for requests on a Saturday evening  (my son loves  aviation so his choice was “The air force song” but a di...

A little late in posting, but I still wanted to commemorate the event with my own blog post.. (hey, real estate got in the way!)..  I arrived late as I was showing some beautiful homes in the Manor.. but another story.. SO, when I did finally arrive after 3 p.m.,  the street was crowded, everyone was truly enjoying themselves, and it was definitely an event to remember.. but isn’t that what we think of Larchmont? A beautiful area that is always memorable? There was a pie eating contest, delicious food being sold everywhere (always a long line by the Walter’s Van!),  non-stop music, beautiful artwork to both enjoy and purchase, a booth for our local Police Department, our Fire Department was selling T-Shirts for charity and, of course, it was simply a wonderful event in which to see...

Every successful office and real estate  agent needs a team.  The Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s Office is blessed to have such a robust,  knowledgeable group of professionals; a support system in over drive! The current team of 7 are present in the office to offer advice, their invaluable knowledge, and always with patience, humor, and intelligence. With an office of over 50 agents, patience is especially important! We mentioned our weekend Ambassador, Marilyn Liebenguth, in an earlier blog post for good reason, and it is now time to brag about our unbelievably talented team of weekday Ambassadors. Firstly, it is so important to have a dedicated group of Administrators, and staff. They are our creative force, creating the brochures, making them look so professional and so representative of...

We all see them. Those local Farmer’s Markets in each town, and what fun they are to visit.  I love to go to the market in Larchmont for the fresh pickles, sauerkraut and jardinière, always so mouth wateringly fresh .   The breads, pies are also delicious.  I bought a Meredith’s Bakery fruit pie the other week and it was so delicious. The crust was crispy, not dry, and it was also unsweetened  and gluten free.  I have to admit, I do not pay attention to gluten free products or unsweetened for that matter, but with the fruit juices  utilized in naturally sweetening the pie, did give me pause for thought! It was great.   The Larchmont Farmer’s Market (Down to Earth Market) is held from May 9 – 12/19  8:30AM – 1: 00PM in the  Larchmont train station parking lot.

Marilyn Liebenguth, our weekend receptionist is simply known as “Mouse.’ She informs me that is because she used to teach first grade, and a chap that she was dating at the time called all little children ‘mice’, and would ask of her ‘hey mouse, how are the mice? “, and the nickname stayed with her.. Everyone else knows her as being an extremely strong and positive  presence at the Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s desk every weekend for the past 30 years!  She runs the desk like a tightly run ship, and follows up on everything, is always courteous to the sellers and agents alike, is so well respected within the area and industry, and for good reason. Carolyn Fugere, the Manager of the Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s Larchmont office stated “we have all observed Mouse’s intelligence, high ethical stan...

Well, I ate the proteins, carbs, and ate well the night before – you have to (when you are about to be  a volunteer for Swim Across America in the Larchmont area!). Ha! You thought I was swimming? As I awoke at 4 am to walk my dog, all that I saw on my early morning trek were the sprinklers commencing their timed watering , and my little sprinkler, with his always being ready to water .. I was asked to be at the Larchmont Yacht Club at 5 am to commence my duties, and I was very impressed. The signs were up, there was breakfast on hand if you wanted bagels, pastries,  fruits, juice and coffee. I was assigned to the ‘bag’ desk. Oh my! a bag lady!. That basically meant that if anyone wanted to store their valuables whilst they were swimming,  my companions and I would  have them compl...

Date Night proved to be a great success? Excuse me? That is, ‘Date Night’ the Larchmont Chamber of Commerce style!  SO many stores stayed open until 8 p..m, so they could attract more buyers,  attract more interest, develop more  relationships and ultimately more sales, and all because of Carolyn Fugere, the President of the Larchmont Chamber of Commerce  (and also the Manager of the Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s Larchmont Office.. This evening was the first of three ‘date nights’ scheduled (August 27th and September 23rd are the next events), and each store participating displayed some colorful balloons outside (courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce and the volunteers who delivered them). If participants visited 5 stores, and signed in, they were eligible for a raffle so a fun event ...
