Cornwall NY Housing Market UPdate for October 2014 The Cornwall NY housing market is showing an increase of sales this month. The number of homes that transferred title doubled since September. Compare this to last year at the same time, and we are rather consistent in numbers. The numbers only tell part of the story. Cornwall is a small community and the numbers can swing percentages easily.  The real indicator is that homes are selling and prices remain relatively stable. Pricing of homes varies and we have inventory in all price ranges that can give a slanted perspective of the direction of the market. Market reports for Cornwall Home Sales show that more houses sold in May than April. Current Housing Market Condition  Year End Housing Market Update for 2013  Housing Sales are UP! 2013 Year End Market Statistics for Cornwall NY The 2013 numbers are in for the Cornwall NY housing market.  The number of single family homes sold in Cornwall rose dramatically at 58.9% for the year. Compared to 2012 that increase is huge. Pricing remained stable for sellers during this time. As inventory is down that may change and prices could be expected to increase this year. Cornwall only had one short sale close for the entire year which tells us that the market is healthy going forward. Things to do in Cornwall NY - It's Summer - So many choices! The weather has been fabulous for the last few days. I guess that is if you like it HOT. All four seasons have something to offer in the Hudson Valley. They are uniquely beautiful in their own right. Personally, I am a fan of the warm weather. I believe that many people are happy that it has finally warmed up, even though the temperature hit 90 for the last few days. Seems that everyone is outside finding something to do when the sunshines and during this "heat wave" it has been no exception. An Iron Railroad Trestle in Cornwall New York The corner of Jackson Avenue and Orrs Mill Road in Cornwall NY is a busy stop for taking photos. Although both roads are usually quite busy with normal through traffic, many people stop, park and get out of their cars to see these views.The Moodna Viaduct Train Trestle has been one of the most photographed locations in Cornwall for many years. I think Fall is really the most beautiful time of the year with all the colors, but any season has its special reasons for taking unique photos. March 3, 2012 starts the beginning of the Maple Sugar Festival in Cornwall, NY.  This is a day of games and crafts with Native American stories around a campfire each weekend through March 25, 2012.  There are special treats, fun recipes and a guided 45 minute walking tour through the forest while you learn how to tap a maple tree to collect syrup. During this time of year there may be either mud or snow so be sure to wear your boots and dress extra warm!  When you return to the farmhouse be ready for a taste test challenge!
