WOW!   We survived the "end of the world",.... those silly Mayans!  A big "high five" to those of  us still in real estate for we have triumphed over the economy and are still here and ready to meet 2013 head on. A time to plan, light our fire for the beginning of a new year and look from "within" for creative ways to make this year bigger and better than last year. So many times we look for that outside stimulus to move us. It's all right there baby, inside US. Love the people and they will love you back. Relationships make the world go round. You gain so much more that just having a buyer or a seller. Michael Maher's, Seven Levels of Communication, says it all. I'm pumped and ready to roll. Join me??? Wishing you all a great year! Treva

WOW! I just listed the most beautifully "staged" home!  I came back to  the office and had to high-five the other brokers. As we all know, not all listings are that way. These owners are no cluttler, no mess, no excuses people. (I wanted to hire them to come "fix" my home, LOL!) I have thought about asking them if they would be willing to be featured in a video to present at all my listing presentations. Good idea, bad idea???

That time of year so I thought I'd post again.LOL! Camping in the Four Corners is one of those looked forward to weekends as often as possible. Farmington, NM is so close to camping areas in several directions that it makes it a great place to live if you are wanting to camp but not have to drive too far. Men of course love it. Crave it. Go as often as possible. I often wonder what they do when they go to the forest. Camping among the wild animals, taking chances with the elements, roughing it, leaving the city behind.  Hummm, Mystery solved.

I love carousels and this one was so beautiful that I had to take a picture of each animal. I think the lion is one of my favorites. I think they take me back to when I was a little girl and wanted to own one--a carousel, not a lion. Although I guess I would have taken one if someone had tried to give it to me. I wanted a horse to keep in my room and feed it sugar, I could have kept a lion too.

Wow, was looking at some property on River Ranch Road yesterday and ran across this awesome rock that looks like a giant bird's skull. Lucky I had that camera! I love the rock formations around Farmington. We have some of the greatest. At certain times of year, there are rock crawls with jeeps and people love it. Isn't nature beautiful?

Had a wonderfully, chilling, and by that I mean had to buy a coat in August when we went to San Franciso last summer. It was an exciting visit but...When you leave your own area, you see wonderful things not common in yours. Never in your life will you see this sign in Farmington, NM. A dust storm or lighting strike but not a --how do you say--TSUNAMI!!

This morning on the Today Show, (bet you think that's all I do is watch the Today Show), Suze Orman who, well, can you say the word CONSERVATIVE said "now might be the time to buy real estate". Go Suze, go! Isn't it SILLY that the public, including us, spends so much time letting the news and commentaries tell us how terrible the market is. BUT--- if people like Suze will start to tell the public about all the opportunities that await them in the real estate market, we should have a GREAT year. I for one am going to quote Miss Suze to everyone I know. In fact, if I can get away with it I am going to SHOUT IT OUT all over town. I am going to invite Suze to come join the SHOUT IT OUT campaign and be our spokesperson. SHOUT IT OUT , SUZE, SHOUT IT OUT!!!    I must appologize, Spring Break ...

Another wonderful sunset! They come in hundreds in our neck of the woods! The morning sunrises and the sunsets make you feel the magic of the universe. I have lived in some of the places in the United States that boast of their mornings and evenings and just smile as I always come home to wonders of New Mexico skies. And you must remember--even aliens came to Roswell to view them! LOL

After working all day, I can't wait (or as my Daddy used to correct me) I can't hardly wait to get on Activerain. I am blown away by the collective years of knowledge and inspiration on this site. Maybe some day I will have some super advice to share but until then, I most likely will have to share an antidote or two. As I shared in my first blog, I also teach history. This morning before school a student was hit crossing the street in front of the school where I teach. NO TEARS, HE IS FINE, after an exciting ride to the hospital in the ambulance, he was back at school before lunch. Applause and high fives all around! It is Thursday, my day for crosswalk duty AFTER school (not my shift this morning). As I do my crosswalk stroll to get students across the street, they point out there is ...

County real estate market makes U.S. top 10: Home sales prices jump 8.1 percent By Cornelia de Bruin The Daily Times Article Launched: 01/01/2008 12:00:00 AM MSTSAN JUAN COUNTY - If being spotlighted on NBC's "Today Show" was not a big enough deal, the Farmington and San Juan County real estate market was highlighted Monday by the National Association of Realtors as one of the top 10 fastest-growing places in the country. The news comes on the heels of a U.S. Commerce Department report released Dec. 28 that showed U.S. new-home sales dipped 9 percent. "We are basing our local market information on the third-quarter metro home price report that showed Farmington with an 8.1 percent increase in the existing home sales price from third-quarter to third-quarter," wrote Liz Giovaniello, a sp...
