  There are so many beautiful areas, events and homes in and around Charlotte, NC.  It has been difficult to choose just one to share.   The other day I was driving through Matthews, NC and I drove past the Historic Matthews Reid House and did a double take for it was all decorated and looking so very lovely.    It has been on my mind so today I drove to Matthews and stopped my car and actually walked around the house and took some pictures.  It amazes me how we can live in an area and know so little about the history.  I have lived in Charlotte, NC since 1993 and have driven past this house many times, but could not tell you much about it except that it is a beautiful old house.   I have discovered that this house was built in 1890 by Edward Solomon Reid.  It is also one of the few re...

                      This was the look I received this week when I told McGrew that he had to go see Dr. Jack Miller, DVM.  McGrew was due his rabies vaccine plus he needed a pedicure.  LOL ... those nails of his were weapons.  He always sits down like this and looks at me when he does not want to do something.   McGrew is the sweetest boy, but hates to ride in the car.  I think he fears he is going to be dumped once again.  Before we adopted him he had been adopted and returned many times.  He needs to have no fear for he is home and here to stay.  We absolutely adore him.   If you are looking for a great pet ... definitely check your local shelters, the pound and breed specific rescue groups.  You will save a life and the love that your receive in return is the best.   If you are lo...
