The following are first quarter numbers for the Gorham single family housing market. The number of current homes on the market are down by 20% to 249 homes. The number of sales are up by 3.6% to 29 sales. The median sales price has risen by 3.5% to $213,333.  The absorption rate has fallen by 20% to 44 months of available inventory. Analysis: decrease in available inventory has resulted in in slight increase in sales volume, increase in values and decrease in absorption rate. This Sunday, January 23rd, I will be attending the open house at 2 McQuillians Hill Drive in Gorham, ME.  This home just went on the market this month and is listed by Jason Bisson, a local realtor with the Maine Real Estate Network.  I have worked with Jason on several transactions over the past couple years and have found him to be very knowledgable of the local market as well as someone who works extremely hard for his clients. The home is a custom extended cape on 8 acres bult in 1997.  This home has some terriffic features including a gourmet kitchen, extra large rear deck and in-law apartment as well as a master suite.  The open house will run from 10am until 2pm.  This is a great opportunity to check out a beautiful home.  I will be present to discuss applicable mortgage programs...

Skip lunch or that afternoon snack and plan to taste the best chili that Gorham businesses have to offer on Thursday, September 18 at 6:00 P.M. at the Little Falls Recreation Center (668 Gray Road, a.k.a. Route 202) in Gorham at the site of the old Robie School.  The event is sponsored by the Gorham Business & Civic Exchange, which is kicking off the fall season with this special event.  If you or your business would like to enter your special recipe, awards and recognition will be provided for the best chili and the best chowder.  Contact me for a sign up sheet and I'll send it immediately.  Friends and family of the Gorham Business & Civic Exchange are invited to attend for what hopefully will become an annual event.
