I am very proud of Dr Hickman Principal of Burke County High School. His dedication the the Burke County Schools is parallel to none. Well its official now and I know that the business community in both Burke County and Richmond County are excited. Plant Vogtle, Southern Company has finally gotten the OK to build two new Nuclear Reactors in Waynesboro Georgia.   The new reactors will take an estimated 7 years to build that will be bringing approximately 7000 contractors to accomplish the job.  In April 2008, Georgia Power, Toshiba Corp (6502.T)/Shaw Group Inc's (SGR.N) Westinghouse Electric Co and Shaw's Stone & Webster subsidiary agreed to build two Westinghouse 1,100 MW AP1000 reactors at Vogtle.  The jobs created will be everything from painters, concrete workers, welders, and the list just goes on and on. The September 2008 Waynesboro Farm Fest was great fun. The weather was beautiful, a perfect sunny day and a calm 79. There was great food, from Hamburgers, Hot dogs and Snow Cones. And of course there was Bar-B-Que cooked up by area locals, trying to earn a spot in the next Waynesboro Boss Hog Cook-Off.   We had a cricket spitin and pie eating contests (no they didn't spit the crickets in the pies) We were entertained by a great DJ and Cloggers, There were great games for the kids and Blow ups to jump and play on. Restaurant  Review for Waynesboro Georgia, #1 Taylor's Barbecue located at 112 13th St Waynesboro Georgia 30830.   This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Waynesboro Georgia located in Burke county. Great Southern home cooking is what you get here!! My husband and I steal away for lunch when ever possible, of course we have taken all the kids too.  Feeding a family of 6 costs about $40.00. No one leaves hungry!! It is a buffet style restaurant where they dish out the food,  you tell them what you want and they PILE it on paper plates.
