National Train Day for Autism in Kennesaw

The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw will host its 3rd Annual National Train Day for Autism, the only Metro Atlanta train event that creates a sensory-friendly experience for individuals on the Autism spectrum and their families, on Saturday May 7, 2016 from 9:30 AM — 5:00 PM.“Our goal is to create opportunities for children on the Autism spectrum to be involved in their community in a safe, supportive space,” said Dr. Richard Banz, the Museum’s Executive Director. “We want everyone to be able to enjoy a nostalgic pastime and create great memories with their family!”The Museum will have several types of model train layouts for children of different ages and needs to tinker and play with, including wooden Thomas trains and remote controlled trains.
