Town of Tioga is a very popular, newer area of Alachua County, about 15 minutes from Gainesville.   Over the past couple years, we've seen low inventory in the area, but a recent look at the market shows slightly higher inventory than the surrounding area.A look at our Town of Tioga neighborhood stats page shows that while inventory is a smidge higher than Alachua County as a whole, sellers are not having to come off their prices much.  Over the past quarter, the average seller has only come about 1% off their list price.Right now, 16 homes are on the market in Tioga, ranging from $275k to $775k.  Any buyers looking in popular Jonesville would be well advised to check this area out. 07/17/2015

We are all creatures of habit aren't we??  I had an appointment yesterday with my long-time hairdresser, Kathy Hutton.    I have started carrying my camera with me all the time, and I thought...HEY...let's do a blog post about where I get my hair done....yes, I am addicted to blogging.... Kathy Hutton is great!   She puts up with me (and that says alot  right there)...and she works at the SALON 119 in the Tioga Town Center in the Jonesville area. As I walked into Salon 119 for my appointment, I caught Kathy sitting at her station working on her laptop...(waiting for me).   She has been my hair stylist for the last couple of years.   She talked me into a getting my hair "highlighted"....and it's looks great!   I was tempted to get her to take a photo of me with all the wraps and solution... 08/06/2010

Life in Gainesville's Town of Tioga Located along the UF/Shands corridor of Newberry Road, Gainesville's Town of Tioga seems to be weathering the choppy economy better than most. According to a spotlight article on the Town of Tioga which appeared in the August 28, 2009 edition of the Gainesville Sun: "Despite the recession, new retailers and restaurants have cropped up in short order to replace those that have closed. Second- and third-story office space is nearly full. The Flats apartments that opened last fall are 98 percent full, while in Gainesville many complexes are struggling with their worst occupancy rates ever.
