Friday Flags A Friendly Breeze in Naugatuck CTThe strong winds have been a story across the country and in some areas for the damage they are causing. They afforded me an opportunity to capture a flag, which I appreciated. The building was vacant, but the yard was loaded with delivery trucks. The building was once the retail outlet for Freihofer's food products. On this day it was just an appreciation of a flying flag.Friday Flags A Friendly Breeze in Naugatuck CT

Friday Flags: A Naugatuck CT Flutter to Make one SmileComing from an appointment in Naugatuck CT this past week, I was happy to see a flutter along a park that made me stop.It is a hectic time of year, and so many are rushing, and it does matter when we get to appreciate the simple things. It was enough of a breeze to get the flag to move, and I felt that with a little patience, it might just get full wave.I was rewarded and although it may not have been a full blow, it was enough to set the end of year post properly. It is always a beautiful sight and maybe a promise of a good year to come. Friday Flags: A Naugatuck CT Flutter to Make one Smile

Friday Flags: A Rehab Facility Proudly Displaying the Flag in Naugatuck CTWe have been visiting a family member that was at a rehab facility in Naugatuck. For as often as we were going there it was always a pleasant site to see the American Flag waving just outside the entrance.Glendale Center is part of the National Genesis Health Care system.  The staff are always attentive, friendly, courteous and quick to answer any questions. As I was leaving one afternoon the wind started do its thing so naturally, I did my thing.I appreciate the facilities that honor our country and display the flag and wish more would do the sameFriday Flags: A Rehab Facility Proudly Displaying the Flag in Naugatuck CT

Friday Flags: A Naugatuck CT Business Proud of Its CountryDriving south on Rt 63 in Naugatuck on the way to New Haven a flutter caught my eye. I pulled over as it was something that I needed to address,A small business, Quality Sheet Metal had a parking lot full of cars and just outside the main entrance, a large flagpole with the American flag waving for all to see.I walked over to the edge of the lot to try and get a better shot and below are the results. This week especially a sense of patriotism seems appropriate and hope that the future will mend our country, and that wisdom and common sense will prevail.Friday Flags: A Naugatuck CT Business Proud of Its Country

Friday Flags: A Bank Office That Shows Its PrideA drive on Rt 63 in Naugatuck, CT on a bit of a windy day offered me a number of opportunities to take some flag photos.I stopped for the first flutter I saw and by the time I got out pf the car the wind had subsided. The building is the main offices of Ion Bank, which is memory is right are the administrative offices of what was once Naugatuck Savings Bank. As I wasn't in a rush, so I waited a few minutes to see if I would get a better shot. My flag patience is often rewarded, and I succeeded.I pass a lot of banks and don't understand why more don't display the flag. Maybe some accountant believes that the time spent to raise and lower it daily cuts into profits? Friday Flags: A Bank Office That Shows Its Pride

Friday Flags:  A Naugatuck CT Building Re-PurposedAs happens in so many communities, school buildings become obsolete both for services as well as shifts in students. Such was the case for the Prospect Street school building for the town of Naugatuck CT.The Prospect Street school was shut down some years back and now houses a gym as well as some small businesses. Driving down to Naugatuck from Prospect recently, I had to stop as the wind had the flag really seeking attention for the way it was waving. While it may no longer be a place for kids to learn, at the very least the current occupants still keep the flag flying proudly. Friday Flags:  A Naugatuck CT Building Re-Purposed

Friday Flags:  A Naugatuck CT Business with a Proud DisplayI will sometimes use a bypass road through the industrial park in Naugatuck CT.  On occasions it is rewarding as there is an old-style lumber yard along the route that offers service and information. It is a 3rd generation business and as it sits at the crest of a hill, on a hill, one can see their flag as it stands proudly in front of their buildings. On those occasions when I need special help, they offer information, service and support.H L Bushka, Lumber and Millwork Naugatuck CTFriday Flags:  A Naugatuck CT Business with a Proud Display

Naugatuck CT 2023 Year End Real Estate Market Analysis Naugatuck CT is a town of app 32,000 in New Haven County. It spans the Naugatuck river and its roots go back as a farming community. As the farms began to turn into residential communities, manufacturing took over and the rubber industry was primary with the evolution of the GoodYear Metallic Rubber Shoe Company into US Rubber, which evolved into Uniroyal.  With the decline of manufacturing, the town is primarily a residential community with easy access to New Haven and Bridgeport. In the world of real estate, the exuberance of the business that had started in 2019 started to slow the enthusiasm as people became wary of venturing into homes not knowing who was there or their health. Friday Flags  At a Naugatuck CT RetailerI find myself doing a little extra gazing while driving to find a commercial site that has a flagpole and uses it.Sadly, it is not as easy as I would like to see, and I cover the small towns around my work hub looking for opportunities. This past week, I made a stop at the Walmart in Naugatuck, CT and got a smile as I walked to the store front. There was not a lot of wind and the building offered protection but I got enough to wave proudly. This is a standalone store so the builder and management were astute enough to want to at least offer a pole for a flag. There are a couple of other stores in the area but they do not have a flagpole.I don't shop at lot at Walmart but will make this my preferred store in the future.Friday Flags  At a Naugatuck CT ...
