  DQNews recently released the November edition of local real estate activity in Southern California. For the most part, it was full of good news, yet again.  Glendale, having the third largest population in Los Angeles County, saw some high points and some low points in November 2013. Out of all the Glendale zip codes, 91206 had the highest number of property sales.  There were 13 single family homes that sold, averaging a 16.4% increase in sales prices from last year.  What’s curious is the 11 condos that sold in 91206 for an average 7.2% less than November 2012.  For reference, I looked at last month’s report and the roles were reversed (condos were up and single family homes were down).  Real estate is truly ever-changing. Is Demand Returning to  Glendale Properties?  Being one of the oldest cities in greater Los Angeles, Glendale has long been known for its beautiful hillside homes and the high prices that come with them! This being said we did see quite a bit of over encumbered homes and distressed homeowners in this area and as a result property values have fallen, along with demand post-bubble burst. New data released from the local Multiple Listings Service may suggest that buyers are beginning to move back into the area, and we may be at the bottom of the market for Glendale. I just made a $50 donation to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life - Pay It Forward I'm involved with many American Cancer Society Relays for Life throughout the year.  This time around, I made a donation to the Relay in Glendale, CA on September 3rd. I have one older brother and 2 older sisters, and I LOVE them VERY much. One of my sisters, when she was in her teens, had a form of cancer called non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  She went through major treatment back then and is still here today as a survivor.  And she's had some bouts with Melanoma throughout the years, and has made it through.
