This Week...A Celebrations of Fathers and Father-Figures in Our LivesLet’s not forget that tomorrow is Father’s Day. I often feel sorry for fathers on this day because it seems like mothers get a lot more perks for Mother’s Day.     To be the father of a nation is a great honor, but to be the father of a family is a greater joy. Nelson MandelaDon’t misunderstand...Mothers deserve all of the honors, accolades, and special treatments we can give them.  It is not flesh and blood, but the heart which makes us fathers and sons. Johann Friedrich von Schiller  But does anyone give a father a rose when they walk into a restaurant on Father’s Day?  No...because they’re all out in the heat cooking ribs and steaks on the grill!!   A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and ...

Owning a Home Has Distinct Financial Benefits Over Renting. Some Highlights When you rent, you build your landlord’s wealth, your monthly payment depends on ever-rising rents, and you don’t benefit from home price appreciation. On the other hand, when you own your home, you build your own wealth, your monthly payment is locked in, and you benefit directly from home price appreciation. If you’re feeling the challenges of a competitive market, remember that homeownership is a long-term game. Persevering today will lead to financial rewards in the future.

We are appreciative of the beauty of our ocean.  It is our perfect place and brings endless smiles on our walks.  Whether it is a sunny day or one with a heavy marine layer as it was yesterday morning,  we enjoy walking in the surf, listening to the roar of the waves, and children's squeals of delight!   "The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever."  ~ Jacques Yves Cousteau "We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."  ~ Mother Teresa "Tidal rhythms have an effect on our physiology.... When we feel out of sorts, our body is out of sync with the body of the Universe. Spending time near the ocean, or anywhere in nature, can help us to synchronize our rhythms with nature's rhy...

Made You Look. . .  Over the years, we have learned about the importance of a post title.  And as we know, that is certainly true when it comes to making the best possible first impression.   This is true personally as well as when presenting a property on the market for sale.  It’s not bait and switch but there's no real reason to believe its the entire story.  A headline doesn’t report everything you may need to know nor does a few photos, a video and a dazzling description "size up" a home.  The same is true for any sales call you might receive. You mean, a “promotional pitch” may omit specific stipulations?   I digress. . .  Look(and listen - and use any other senses you may have access) carefully but remember the idea is to first capture attention.  The rest of the story follows. ....

So there they were. Husband and wife or boyfriend and girlfriend. Both heavily tattooed. Both wearing biker vests. Both looking like you don’t want to mess with them in a dark alley. Since this was a timeshare organization with an elite property, all the salespeople thought it would be a waste of time to take these folks as their tour. So, a manager approached one sales person and said that if they would agree to tour this couple, the tour wouldn’t count against their closing percentages and the manager would owe the salesperson a favor. The sales person took them through the tour, knowing he was wasting his time. Finally it became time to bring in a manager to give one last shot at selling a timeshare. That was when they got an unusual question from the couple. The man leaned over and ...
