Should You Try to Time the Housing Market? In spite of your intuitions—and potentially some advice you’ve received in the past—it’s incredibly difficult to time the real estate market effectively. But why is this the case and what can you do about it? It’s been the year for contradictions in the housing market. Housing sales are decelerating, home builders are slowing down production and mortgage interest rates are more than double what they were a year ago. Mortgage applications are at their lowest level in 22 years. However, home prices remain near record highs, driven by low supplies, household formations by Millennial and Gen-Z homebuyers, and a strong job market. Is now the time to buy, or should you wait for housing prices and rates to come down? Timing the housing market is seldom...

Buying a home in Charlotte, NC is often seen as the more traditional route, but that isn’t always the right choice for everyone. For example, if you’re not planning on staying in one place for very long, then it might make more sense to rent. The same is true if you’re not ready to commit to a mortgage or if you’re still trying to save up for a down payment. On the other hand, buying a home can be a significant investment, allowing you to build long-term equity. The best option for you will still depend on your unique circumstances. As a real estate agent of Showcase Realty, I have extensive experience helping clients navigate the complex world of renting and buying homes in Charlotte, NC. Let’s take a closer look at some of these pros and cons to help you decide whether it’s better to ...

The market here in Halifax, Nova Scotia has continued its pattern as with previous months this year so I thought it would be interesting to see how this market compared to 2015. It was a strong Buyer's market and the surprise was how the median value for condos was higher than single family homes. It's no longer the case because we have a lot more condos that were built since. The increase in median values was a surprise too! Where else can you make $300,000 return on investment in just 7 years than real estate??!!

Greetings and hello there again.  Hope this email finds you doing well this Monday, you are healthy and had a wonderful weekend.  Wanted to share Tim's Time Outs:WHY LIFE SEEMS TO BE DIFFICULT: When life seems difficult, it's because you are comparing the way things are to how good you know they can be.   That's actually a good thing, because it connects you with your positive expectations. Each time you encounter what feels like difficulty, remind yourself to also notice your positive expectations, possibilities, and all the blessings in your life.  Let that feeling of difficulty lead to a feeling of empowerment.   You know...without a doubt, that things CAN BE BETTER...And knowing that, you are just one step away from beginning to make things better.  Yes, you could choose to become d...

For me, blogging is a way to record my real estate happenings. I can share with my clients and my listening audience what is happening. If it is a listing, an open house, a too-late property, or a smooth settlement, I am logging in to share all about real estate. It is also a way to engage others. My buyers, sellers, and radio listeners have access. I have a link in my email address, and I love that the public can follow me. If there is a question on the show, via email, or a phone call...I may turn that question into a blog. And then that blog can become a topic for my radio show: double duty and a great way to stay in touch with clients. So many people have stopped or slowed down their daily or weekly posting using the lack of SEO as their reason. As long as I have comments, calls, emai...

Friday, December 3rd started out drizzly and cloudy but as the day wore on the sun tried to peak through the clouds and couldn’t have been a nicer late afternoon to hold the Canyon Creek Elementary PTA Holiday Fair!   Everyone worked so hard and it all came together! There were so many great booths selling Christmas stocking stuffers, baked goods, the fire fighters came out with their trucks so the kids could climb in, the little train ran around the perimeter of the school, the bounce houses were loved and face painting was a hit! The Brown Santa Drive for kid's toys had their own table so they had their bases covered. Melissa and I were sponsors of the event. We saw so many past clients, friends, neighbors, teachers and residents. Really enjoyed our time to visit. Love our community a...
