In the dynamic world of software development, efficient collaboration and meticulous version control are paramount. Git, a distributed version control system, has emerged as an indispensable tool that empowers development teams to work seamlessly, track changes, and ensure project integrity. Let's explore some of the key advantages of using Git in the software development lifecycle.Distributed Version ControlGit's distributed nature allows every team member to have a local copy of the entire project repository. This decentralization means that developers can work independently, make changes, and commit them locally without the need for a constant connection to a central server. This decentralization not only enhances collaboration but also provides a robust backup mechanism.Efficient Br...

Preston Tucker A Man from the Future! When you hear the name Preston Tucker, it usually brings up memories from the historic golden age of automotive design and innovative genius.Tucker had a brilliant mind when it came to automobile design and engineering. Many enthusiasts and automotive historians still talk about his creativity and entrepreneurship. Tucker’s genius and innovation was even captured in a 1988 movie titled, “Tucker: The Man and his Dream.”Preston Tucker (1903-1956) and his Tucker 48 inspire admiration -- and debate -- to this day. Tucker built 51 cars before a shortage of money and a surplus of bad publicity closed his company. Some think the Big Three conspired to destroy him. More likely, he was overwhelmed by the enormous cost of building an automobile company from s...

Friday Flags: Waving High so All Can See in Cocoa FLA we were driving over the bridge to get to Cocoa Beach, FL. a flutter to my left caught my eye. A building somewhat isolated with a high pole atop and a flag waving for all to see.Traffic was too heavy for me to stop but I knew I would make the opportunity. As luck would have it, I was on my way to a golf course, and I had to exit the highway right where that tower stood. The building has a lese sign out front and as there were no cars in the lot, it must not have any occupants as yet.Hopefully for the owner that is short loved as their mind is certainly in the right place as for being proud Americans. Friday Flags: Waving High so All Can See in Cocoa FL

In Florida Stone Crab Season runs for October 15th until May 1st so I picked up a couple pounds the other day.  My go to place is Lighthouse Seafood on CR 466 in The Villages.  Be prepared to pay about $38 a pound for large and $58 a pound for the jumbo claws, but they are so good!  Having a Chesapeake Bay background my go to recipe is steaming which I use beer, vinegar, water and of course plenty of Old Bay seasoning.  Just need a few minutes to warm them up, the intense heat of steaming brings the flavor out!  Drawn butter is my choice!Did something last night I never experienced being a Villager, “Swan Naming Party”.  A Friend called and invited us to his home to name two swans (inflatable) that float around his pool, a neighbor had given them as a gift.  Everybody submitted names an...

Throwback Thursdays: sometimes I have to check on my Real Estate Signs...Sometimes, I find it is important to take a tour and look at my Real Estate Signs. Some neighborhoods I do not even put up a sign because I know that the neighbors think by knocking down my sign, I will not be able to sell it and they do not have to worry about someone building near their home...Yes, it does sound strange when we have all the internet portals some neighbors still think that only the sign will sell the property. How naive, anyway, then again there are other neighbors who are totally different. They call me and tell me someone vandalized your sign check it out.All depends on the personalities, and I am grateful for the kind neighbors. Some even tell me... Well, when we are ready to sell, we will be r...

Friday Fun…Video or the Written Word? Video and its use in marketing is not going away.  Dorie Dillard Austin TX's post yesterday reminded me that YouTube has been around since 2005!   Look how it’s grown! When it was introduced, I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to look at someone else’s videos they uploaded.  And now?  Larry uses YouTube all the time to find out how to fix things.  YouTube has morphed, grown, and become a fun source of entertainment.  I like videos! I have my favorites on YouTube and Instagram. Videos are the perfect way to grab someone’s attention about a listing. We are primarily a visual bunch of people. However, I’d prefer a mix of video and the written word. There are times when I’d rather read the information I’m looking for and not have to grab my ear...

With another big snow storm in the Pocono Mountains this week, we are beginning to think the groundhog was wrong: winter is here to stay for a while. Instead of feeling the winter blues, think about all of the ways to enjoy the season in the mountains! Aside from enjoying the snow on the slopes, or taking in the scenery in one of the beautiful parks, many towns also take the opportunity to hold their own winter celebrations. During the weekend of February 16th-18th, Jim Thorpe is holding its annual Winterfest.  Jim Thorpe is known for being one of the most charming towns across the US, and its sense of community is unmatched. Join the town to celebrate winter with fun for the whole family! There is tons to do in town: for instance, try taking in a roundtrip train ride on the Lehigh Gorg...

I think Timmothy (the artist) has come up with an original knock knock joke here. Now a days one doesn't have to wonder who is at the door, you just get a video doorbell.I have a Ring brand doorbell BUT I do not recommend them for a couple of reasons. It has a annual fee of  $49.99 that just went up $10. and I have been very disappointed with the clarity of the videos. Also the delay between it letting me know when someone is at the door is such that they usually have left before I can talk to them on the phone. If you are interested in a video doorbell I highly recommend you check eBay, they are as low as $10.00 for the unit (shown below) and there is no annual fee.I just ordered one of the above for my office so I will let you know how the $10. doorbell works compared to the Ring doorb...

All that's left for you to do is move right in!Geraldine sat back from her keyboard, grinning as she laced her fingers behind her head."You still go it," she congratulated herself on another job well done, her smoker's rasp yielding to a brief coughing fit. She fished the last cigarette out of the pack of Virginia Slims on the desk next to the old Toshiba laptop with an arthritic claw. Everything took longer these days, but that only added to the eventual satisfaction.Lighting up, she proofed her ad copy for the fourth time through the cancerous haze. She chuckled at her favorite bits, like the proud parent of puns and witticisms that she was.More upgrades than a Kardashian! More remodeling than a Jenner!Don't take these counter tops for granite!Even the pronoun police agree that Mrs. C...

Pickleball has made the big time!  It was featured in one of the best Super Bowl Commercials, The e-Trade Babies. The babies frame the game as our good friend, Brian England, would do, "Pickleball is tennis for babies!"  It is exactly what I thought of the game when my father tried to introduce it to me.  I actually told him that , "I would not chase around some silly, plastic Wiffle Ball all over the place."  It turns out that I was wrong.  I do chase that silly little ball all over the place about five times a week.    Come on Brian!  This game is so easy that even the babies are playing.  I will set up a clinic for you, first one is free! ! ! 🤣 #NoPickleballForBrian#ResistanceIsFutile#BrianBrianBrian#YouCanDoIt#TennisForBabies
