Big Tech Just Killed the Law That Would Have Protected Your Power Bill. Here Is What Seattle Did Next. This spring, Washington lawmakers wrote a bill aimed at one simple thing: making sure giant data centers pay for the power they use, instead of pushing the cost onto your bill. It passed the House. Then it died in the Senate after a heavy push from the tech industry, with Microsoft calling it "uniquely anti-competitive." So the statewide protection most homeowners assume is in place is not there. Seattle had to act on its own. If you own a home around Seattle or on the Eastside, here is what happened, what is hype, and what it means for your power, your water, and your home.I am a real estate advisor, not a utility or a financial advisor, so nothing here is financial advice. The facts b...

Washington's 5 New Housing Laws (June 2026): What Seattle-Area Homeowners Actually Need to KnowIf you own a home around Seattle, rent one out, or you are grinding toward your first place, the rules just moved under your feet. Five state housing laws took effect on June 11, 2026, and most homeowners have no idea they passed. No spin, no hype, just a precise read on what changed, what did not, and what it means for your parcel. Let us get into it.I am keeping this specific to Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland, because several of these laws land differently depending on where your dirt sits. I am a real estate advisor, not an attorney or a CPA, so nothing here is legal or tax advice. For anything that carries real weight, loop in a land-use or landlord-tenant attorney, or a CPA on t...

Celebrate International Being You Day – Because There's Only One You“You’re born an original—don’t die a copy.” ... Our Many Fathers…   We have many fathers, we have the fathers who we are born with, we have fathers who raise us, sometimes they are the same and sometimes they are stepfathers and adopted fathers.   We have Grandfathers, mine had an immense impact on my life and I still miss him often. And we have Father in Laws, mine is a fantastic role model for me in my constant goal of being and exceptional father. We also have other fathers that we don’t always think of as fathers, people who influence us and guide us to do the right things as we grow older. All of these have made me the man that I am today and I am very grateful for their love, nurturing, and leadership.       And the one Father that has always been in my life has been my Father in heaven. Thank you All!!

The Longest Day in the Woods: Celebrating the Summer Solstice on Wisconsin ForestlandToday marks the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. The summer solstice arrives each June when the Northern Hemisphere reaches its maximum tilt toward the sun, giving Wisconsin its greatest amount of daylight. While many people simply notice that the sun rises early and sets late, our forests have been preparing for this day for months. For those who own, work, hunt, hike, or simply enjoy Wisconsin forestland, the summer solstice is more than a date on the calendar. It is a reminder that the land keeps its own schedule. Before SunriseThe longest day often begins before most people are awake.A light fog hangs over lowlands and ponds. Songbirds begin their morning chorus. Deer return from fe...

As someone who follows both the local real estate market and what's happening around Madison County, I always encourage buyers, sellers, and residents to pay attention to more than just home prices. Community news often tells the bigger story about where a town is headed. Here are a few highlights from this week in Berea. The week began with positive news for future growth as the Planning Commission approved the preliminary plat for the proposed Central Park development, pending final technical review. New residential developments like this can play an important role as Berea continues to grow.Another encouraging story came when Kentucky's First Lady visited the future home of Redeeming Hope. Continued investment in nonprofits and community organizations strengthens the quality of life th...

Honoring the Love, Strength, and Guidance of Fathers Happy Father's Day to all the men who dedicate themselves to the incredible journey of fatherhood. Today is a wonderful reminder to celebrate the fathers who have shaped our lives with their love, wisdom, strength, and unwavering support. Whether you're honoring your dad, a stepfather, grandfather, father-in-law, godfather, spiritual father, father-to-be, or another special man who has embraced the role of a father, take a moment to let him know how much he means to you. The guidance, encouragement, sacrifices, and quiet acts of love that fathers give often leave a lasting impact that spans generations. A father's love is truly one of life's greatest gifts—steady, reassuring, and unlike any other. Soccer Stars and Fans Are Falling in Love with America  From the moment international soccer teams and fans arrived in the United States, their admiration for America began shining bright. Discovering for themselves the amazing country that has been consistently shown to them in a bad light by legacy media. They are positively beaming from their in-person experiences.  They realize now what makes our country special, the sports stadiums, warm hospitality, incredible food and the unmistakable freedom plus opportunity for all. It's a celebration of what unites us through the spirit of the game.  We have hosted a group from Scotland and England at our home who were also very impressed with America. Words often failed them but their SMILES said it all!   Lionel Messi has embraced it fully s...
