Did you know that it is National Map Reading Day?This morning, an email from Terry Green from PRMG asked the following question."What would you do if the directional satellites went down? Can you get from point A to point B without using a finger and thumb to zoom in?" Hmm. How many of us could still function without our Waze, Apple Maps, Google Maps, or any apps, including GPS? Do we know where we are? Do we know where we are going? Remember when we had to rely on ADC books, paper maps, and our sense of direction to find our way around? They were not fun days for me, but I think they were the main reason I became a listing agent. When selling Real Estate, it's much easier to find one location than several with buyers in tow.I fondly remember calling my husband TLH and asking, "Where am...

I can't wait to see how many people I can reconnect with and I'm not using this challenge as my drive or for motivation and inspiration. Okay, maybe I am a little. The Activerain Reconnection Rally When Debe Maxwell, CRS asked if I would help bring back the spark through this reconnection rally, I said yes. Why? I smiled ear to ear as I imagined the joy and excitement of reconnecting with some of the veteran Activerain old-timers who helped build and create this "still-going" and amazing network. All of which have very long and deep roots here. Oh, the stories to be told by these folks... but maybe not all shared. lol~ What a great idea to have a sort of reunion gathering and then just let the sparks fly. This is exactly what will happen if I can get these following members back here in ...

Reaching Out to James DrayFor more years than I can remember, I began my ActiveRain reading by getting inspiration and knowledge from Wayne Martin, Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS, and James Dray. While I continue to exercise my dendrites thanks to Wayne, I miss Paul and James. James Dray and I’ve connected before. My mother’s family is from Arkansas, where James lives. Another connection we have is law enforcement. His last position was as the Deputy Sheriff for Benton County, AR. When he retired, needed something to do so in 2008, he began his real estate career. ( I have several family members who serve here in Houston.) I love this line that James has on his Facebook page…“Law enforcement taught me honesty...real estate is where I practice it"I spoke to James today. His last post w...

I first met Desiree Daniels (some time in the 80s), having worked with her mother and father beginning in  1984.   Her mom, Rosalie, who I affectionately called “Mama Rosalie” was my unofficial mentor, always kind with a word or three of advice.  Rosalie, now retired, was well regarded for her logic and great business sense.  Her dad, Conrad, was a very strong and competitive agent who listed many homes and sold a lot of new construction. Rosalie and Conrad went on to open ReMax Tri County In Hamilton,  New Jersey, which became the single most productive office in the State.  I have mad respect for their achievements.   Well, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.   Desiree has been a standout and top and respected agent at ReMax Tri County for as long as I can remember, and is one of...

Sandpoint Realty 'Thursday Thought' has us look deeply into, and beyond, all the bells and whistles being offered. With the constant barage of new and better gimmicks being thrown at us daily, if not hourly, it is difficult to keep focus on what really matters.  There is NO easy button, the work is needed.  There is not way around it.While a multitude of new ways to do things, the truth is the 'things' remain virtually unchanged over 100's and 100's of years.  If we doubt that for a second look back at writings of Seneca or Marcus Aurelius.  The principles remain the same whether business, personal, or family.   'Experience the Difference' in working with a full time Professional Sandpoint Realty REALTOR®.  Your wants and needs will always be my priorities.  Mark Don McInnesBroker - Owne...

I Get Messed Up, Then Step Up Because I've Seen Worse, I Keep Moving Forward.   My friend Jason E. Gordon  taught me almost 20 years ago this quote:"Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it."  Trauma leaves scars, it causes fear, pain and it definitely brings change. While I won't let it define me, I do allow it to change me, to improve me and to teach me. Because I've Seen Worse, I Keep Moving Forward.   "Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill."  ~ Muhammad Ali Because I've Seen Worse, I Keep Moving Forward in life. I'm steadfast in my belief that there's always a way forward, even if it's not on the path or ...
