This 146,000 foot education building was the largest building that we have audited. We had every fan and blower door running 100%. Information gathered from the energy audit will be used to determine energy efficiency, retrofitting and weatherization projects using funds from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG). Retrofitting projects will include air infiltration, energy efficient windows and doors, insulation levels, weather-stripping and caulking, and electric base loads.    Using its EECBG formula funding to retrofit and improve the energy efficiency of a number of it's municipal buildings that will result in substantial reduction in energy usage. EECBG Formula grants can be used for energy efficiency and conservation programs and projects community wide, as w...

Located north of Crescent H Ranch, River Meadows is a popular subdivision that offers affordable homes, a convenient location, and amenities such as fishing rights on the Snake River and a tennis court. The development of River Meadows began in 1973 when Don Albrecht purchased part of the Harold Young Riverview Ranch. In 1981, he completed the first filing of the Ranch consisting of 18 lots averaging in size from one-quarter to one acre. The original sale price for lots at River Meadows ranged between $40,000 and $60,000.

What is the silver lining in the Jackson real estate cloud?  It's a buyer's market.  The rocketing prices of houses on the market of the past are starting to come back to earth a bit, with sellers realizing that they can't sell an overpriced home.  This housing cooldown should actually be considered more of a market correction.  Even through this sluggish market, Real Estate of Jackson Hole has enjoyed record listings with their share of the market on the rise.  Those houses listed under $1 million are affected the most.  However, the median price for a home in Jackson has increased 2% from last year to $1.2 million.  The "upper-end buyers" (those in the $1 million or more range who account for 60% of local Jackson sales) continue to pull their money from other resources and put it in l...

Spring is on the horizon but there is still time for those who believe winter is just more fun. There is nothing to compare to the great outdoors and the winter wonderland opportunities in Jackson Hole. Ski, Snowboard, Snowshoe, Snow-tubing, Snowmobile, Sleigh Ride, Dog Sled, Hot Springs, Spas, its all here in Jackson Hole amid gorgeous surroundings.  Many snow resorts are limited to a December - February prime time but here in Jackson Hole reports show 397 inches of snow in the mountain resorts so there is still time to come up and enjoy all the snow related activities amid excellent conditions (the weather is warming and the snow pack is great). Not only are the choices for enjoying the great outdoors excellent but so are the choices of where to stay. You can choose from simple to five...

Each year Jackson Hole has the privilege of hosting the Wyoming Special Olympics Winter Games.  There are 4 main categories of competition: Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snow Boarding and Snow Shoeing.   This year the games began with cheers and thunderous applause as our very own Delford Hill lit the torch during opening ceremonies. This was a proud moment and honor for Delford as well as for those cheering him. Delford has been competing in the Special Olympics Snow Shoeing event since the Winter Games were established in Wyoming 30 years ago.   Delford snow shoes for one reason and that is the Special Olympics competition.  This year his hard work and dedicated training has paid off in the form of one Gold medal and two Bronze. These medals were not his first and we are sure t...

There usually seems to be a lot of discussion here in Jackson surrounded by the affordable housing crisis and this week is no different. With traditionally low inventory levels and high prices buyers here in Jackson are limited to what and where they can invest in their future. Enter Teton Meadows Ranch located on the South Park Loop Road. Chicago based developer, James Reinert has proposed to up-zone this large parcel, about 336 acres to allow for roughly 500 housing units to be built on 288 acres of the lot. Some will be traditional affordable with a siginificant portion enrolling into a hybrid deed restricted offering known as 'gap' housing where the individuals qualify under a certain income and asset class, yet cannot afford the 'free-market' properties available for sale througout...

Hello from Jackson, Wyoming. That's right for you out-of-staters it is Jackson, not Jackson Hole Wyoming.   The area was named Jackson Hole back in 1829 by William Sublette, one of our famous mountain men and a partner of David Jackson, who Sublette named the valley for.   Jackson is surrounded by mountains on all sides forming a large valley or hole, thus, the name Jackson Hole.  Jackson Hole lies in the northwest portion of the state of Wyoming and in the central portion of the headwaters of the Snake River. The valley is about 400 square miles (48 miles long and six to eight miles wide) and lies a few miles to the west of the great Continental Divide. Only 2.7% of the valley is private and develop-able. The rest of the valley is under some degree of conservation easement or is dedica...

The new MKGS condos in E. Jackson are moving along and look pretty good: http://www.flexmls.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?20071219000506803802000000&s=10&id=1There is currently one unit under contract listed for $1.05M but no official word on when the remaining 4 offerings will become available; although sometime early next year sounds like the time frame. Great location in an area of town subscribing to the much needed transition idea.Details: 2347 square feet, 3 bed/3.5baths, 2 car attached garage, bonus room, study, views of the mountains and maybe the Tetons, walking distance to Snow King, town square and Cache Creek recreational area.I'm not sure what else you could possibly want around town for this kind of money in the condo segment. Fortunately, these products are freestanding and HOA fe...
