Maria's Pizzeria 5025 W Forest Home Ave. Milwaukee, WI Wow! I was always attracted to this place because of the neon sign- it looked like something out of 1954. When we first decided to stop in, I thought this was going to be hip on the outside, country-kitsch on the inside with little wood cutout geese and signs that say "home sweet home". Boy was I wrong! From the minute we walked in, my jaw dropped. Not only was the sign from 1954, the inside looks like the interior of the best cocktail lounge from the 1950s. The main interior decoration theme is Paint by Number pictures of religious scenes. According to the menu, the founder used the Paint by Number pictures to cover the cracks in the wall- a method of home improvement that I have used once or twice. Being shortly after the Christm...
