Sumner High School is 1 of 18 schools in Washington State and only 1 of 3 in Pierce County that offers the International Baccalaureate Program (IB).  This program has been recognized by the world's leading universities.  My son is currently enrolled in the program at Sumner High School.  It is challenging and time consuming, but great for any student wanting to take their education to the next level.

Puyallup Spring Fair starts tomorrow, Thursday at 2:00pm and goes through Sunday.  Thursday is kids free entrance and Friday is military appreciation day and all military and dependents with an ID card get free admittance.  It is much smaller than our Puyallup Fair in the fall.  But it is very enjoyable, to walk through the fair, without worrying about the crowds, and long lines.  If you want to spend a leisurely day with your family or just go and get a scone fix,  (You locals know what I mean), then go and "DO the Puyallup this weekend.

365 Things to do in Bonney Lake/Lake Tapps/Sumner DAY 41: It is raining cats, dogs and birds outside. Why not spend today indoors exploring a bit of Sumner's History. The historic Ryan House is a beautiful example of 19th-century architecture. George Ryan was instrumental in establishing the town of Sumner and became its first mayor in 1891. The house's east wing is the original 1860s Kincaid/Seaman one-room cedar cabin; after the George Ryan bought the property in 1872, he enlarged the house in 1875 and added its main section in 1885 with wood from their own sawmill. In 1926, Ryan's heirs donated the house to the City to be used as Sumner's Library until the library moved to its current location in 1979. The house is now home to the Sumner Historical Society while the grounds are part ...
