About 40 miles north of my place in Renton is the small town of Snohomish. It’s one of the oldest inland communities in our area of the Pacific Northwest, founded in 1859. Emory C. Ferguson (1833-1911) was a pioneer and founder of the City of Snohomish. He originally came here to find gold but made his fame and fortune selling goods to prospectors and later farmers.
